90 Day Fiancé: All The Stupid Questions Elizabeth’s Family Asked About Moldova

Elizabeth Potthast’s family finally arrived in Moldova on the July 26 episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? As they haven’t been out of Florida in thirty years, Elizabeth’s dad and brother were hit by a bit of culture shock and had a lot of questions for Elizabeth’s husband.

Many viewers know Andrei Castravet doesn’t get along well with Elizabeth’s family, especially her father, Chuck Potthast. So, when his in-laws landed in his country, Andrei didn’t show any kind of enthusiasm, despite his wife’s excitement. In a confessional, he said, “My relationship with Elizabeth’s family is strictly because I have her as my wife. Honestly, if I was not, you know, like, with her in a relationship, like, I would not probably be friends with any of them.” Well, the feelings between Chuck, Andrei, and Charlie are mutual. Libby’s family also isn’t too fond of the Moldova native. To make matters worse, the family’s trip to Moldova began with a few hitches: they didn’t get their luggage in time and they had to wait for about an hour before they discovered it wasn’t coming down the carousel. Charlie said, “Yeah, not a good start. No bags and it’s cold and dreary. It’s not Tampa.” But, Andrei found this situation somewhat amusing and exclaimed, “Welcome to Moldova.”

Later on, the father-son duo whined about how small the airport was, and Charlie instantly remarked that more people were leaving than arriving in the country. During the car ride to the Andrei’s parents’ house, the Americans started asking tons of questions about Moldova. Chuck asked if there was any Walmart there, to which his son-in-law replied, “No.” Some 90 Day Fiancé fans noticed that elderly Americans seem to be obsessed with Walmarts. Earlier, Colt Johnson’s mom, Debbie, was also keen to know if Brazil has one. Andrei was thankful for the language barrier between his wife’s family and his, because, in his words, “Elizabeth’s family’s stupid stuff is not going to touch the ears of my family.” Check out the video below:

Chuck followed up his Walmart comment with other ridiculous questions about traffic lights, salads, BBQ, fish markets, and Amazon deliveries in Moldova. Surprisingly, the hot-headed Andrei didn’t make a fuss about it and casually replied to all the questions. Perhaps Libby’s family was trying to find the same American comfort in Moldova. Chuck also inquired if there are any traffic cops, who have the authority to give tickets. The 34-year-old candidly answered that those policemen can be easily bribed!

When the four reached Andrei’s house, Charlie made another comment claiming he could imagine himself getting mugged in the neighborhood. It certainly didn’t look like Potthast family was genuinely curious or interested in knowing more about the country. Instead, it seemed like they were only trying to prove how inferior Moldova is.
