90 days is never enough time for a couple to determine if they’re ready to walk down the aisle. In pretty much every season of TLC’s 90 Day Fiancé, fans have to watch couples learn that lesson the hard way.
Although there are plenty of couples from the show who have lived happily ever after, there are a lot that crash and burn. Whether it’s cultural families, an unsupportive family, or betrayal, some couples who might seem to be adorable together at first soon spiral into toxic or impossible relationships to carry on.
Natalie & Mike
Natalie and Mike have appeared in both Season 7 and Season 8 of 90 Day Fiancé. When Natalie and Mike are on good terms, they are adorable together. But some fundamental differences between them make it impossible for them to be a good match, and that’s why they have had one of the most tumultuous experiences on the show.
For starters, Natalie is very health-conscious, whereas Mike is not. He likes to enjoy a beer, whereas Natalie does not drink. She’s a vegetarian, and Mike is not. She’s very religious. Mike is not. The list could go on and on, but ultimately, it’s these small differences that have played a factor in their demise.
Nicole & Azan
Nicole, a single mother from Flordia, and Azan, a Muslim man from Morocco, were cute together during Season 4. But when Nicole traveled to Morocco to visit her man, she had difficulty adjusting to the cultural differences, which caused them to bicker constantly.
Azan made comments about her weight which also didn’t help their situation. The couple appeared again in Season 5, and history repeated itself. Despite their puppy love, these two just weren’t a good match for each other.
Danielle & Mohamed
Danielle and Mohamed might seem like an odd pair at first glance, but there was something cute about them that made fans root for their success. At the time of their marriage, Danielle had three teenaged daughters, and it seemed like Mohamed could fit in perfectly with their family.
However, their relationship was doomed because it was plagued with dishonesty from beginning to end. Danielle is now an eligible bachelorette on the Discovery+ spinoff, 90 Day: The Single Life.
Ashley & Jay
Ashley and Jay’s whirlwind romance seemed like something out of a fairytale at first. Ashley met Jay while she was vacationing in Jamaica. They hit it off quickly and got engaged after spending just eight days together.
Although it seemed like an adorable love story, their relationship derailed just as quickly as it started, making them one of the most talked-about couples from the show”>the most talked-about couples from the show. Ashley caught Jay on a dating app days before their wedding. After they tied the knot, another cheating scandal prompted Ashley to file for divorce. Perhaps if they had more time to get to know each other, they would have recognized that weren’t a good match from the start.
Jorge & Anfisa
There was something that fans found very endearing about Jorge and Anfisa’s relationship during its good moments. They gushed over each other at first, and their young love was really exciting for the show. But throughout their original season, Anfisa constantly got upset with Jorge over various things.
She’d kick him out of their apartment, refuse to film, and at one point, it even seemed like she was going to leave the country. Although it was much later when the couple finally called it quits, their inability to get along during the initial 90 days was a sign that they weren’t a good match in the first place.
Deavan & Jihoon
It’s shocking for fans to see how much Deavan and Jihoon have fallen apart following their time on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. When audiences were first introduced to them, they were a blossoming young family with a lot of potential. Of course, they weren’t perfect, but who is?
As Season 2 progressed, it became clear that Deavan and Jihoon were not a good match. Parenting differences, cultural differences, and trust issues all proved to be too much. Since the show wrapped, the two have been involved in a nasty custody battle that has played out all over social media.
Chelsea & Yamir
What do a Nicaraguan pop star and a girl from Galesburg, Illinois, have in common? Fans were left asking this question after each and every episode of Season 2 of 90 Day Fiancé.
Although they were a super cute couple, the feasibility of their future came into question during their run because Yamir had his eyes set to kick off a music career in Chicago, while Chelsea felt hesitant about leaving her hometown. Since the show wrapped, the two have divorced. Yamir finally made it to Chicago, and Chelsea came out as a member of the LGBTQ+ community.
Yazan & Brittany
Brittany and Yazan looked great together, and there was an undeniable spark between them. But as the cameras kept rolling on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, it became pretty clear that they didn’t have a future together.
The two weren’t a good match, and Brittany’s background didn’t align with Yazan’s Arabic culture. Yazan’s parents thought Brittany was a porn star, there were threats of honor killings, and Brittany needed a translator to truly understand the gravity of the situation. When Brittany flew back to the States, she admitted what all of the fans were thinking. She said, “I love Yazan, but I don’t know if this is the right relationship for me and I don’t know if this is the right relationship for him.”
Jovi & Yara
Jovi and Yara are still together, but throughout Season 8, their future has felt questionable to fans at home. There are just so many differences between them that they hardly seem like a good match for each other.
Jovi likes to party with his friends. He also has to spend long periods away from home for work. On the other hand, Yara seems to prefer a quiet life home at home, and she constantly wants the company of her husband. Throughout the whole season, fans have seen them fuss about their lifestyle differences. With Jovi’s penchant for partying and his carefree attitude, it’s hard to see these two being a good long-term match.
Jaso & Cassia
Season 2’s Jason and Cassia were cute together, but shortly after the 90-day timer started rolling, cracks in their relationship started to show. Part of it might have been their age difference: she was 23 at the time, and he was 38. One of the most memorable issues that made them a bad match was Jason’s frugality. He spent all of his time buying and selling knick-knacks, and Cassia seemed turned off by the whole lifestyle.
Their relationship got ever rockier after their season wrapped. Cassia called the police on Jason, alleging that he physically assaulted her. He was arrested, but then she withdrew the statement. They filed for divorce, called the divorce off, and then filed for divorce a second time. They’ve both moved on, and it sounds like it’s for the better.
