The covert company that John (Donald Glover) and Jane Smith (Maya Erskine) work for in the acclaimed action comedy spy series is shrouded in ambiguity, as both John and Jane accept their missions through a barebones instant messaging chat platform. The service constantly begins its discourse with a “Hihi” greeting, leading John and Jane to refer to their unidentified boss as such. Hihi sends John and Jane on various missions throughout the 8-part series which has yet to be announced for a second season.
Outside of having an outstanding ensemble cast and an immersive, love-centric soundtrack, Mr. & Mrs. Smith ultimately offers an innovative update to the gripping premise of the original 2005 movie.
