Reba McEntire is coming back to TV for Happy’s Place, and she will continue a tradition from his past shows. Aside from being the Queen of Country Music, the prolific singer is also an accomplished actress, particularly a comedic one. So when NBC announced her new sitcom, Happy’s Place, it was met with excitement. Previously, Reba was last seen in the Young Sheldon finale. However, her role was rather small in The Big Bang Theory prequel. She played June — Dale’s ex-wife, who eventually became friends with Meemaw. Now, however, she gets to spearhead her own show on broadcast TV again.

During NBC’s TCA Summer Press Tour panel (via Matt Mitovich/X), it has been confirmed that Reba will also sing the theme song for Happy’s Place. Check out his post below:

This continues Reba’s trend of performing the theme song for her shows. It all started with 2001’s Reba, “I’m A Survivor,” followed by 2012’s Malibu Country’s “Goodbye Looks Good On Me.” According to Mitovich, Reba has yet to record the piece.

Why Reba McEntire’s Happy’s Place On NBC Is So Exciting

Reba’s Official Return To Sitcom Is Awaited Thanks To The Renaissance Of 2001’s Reba On Streaming

This marks Reba’s return to network TV for a comedy in more than a decade. She previously starred in Big Sky season 3, but it was more of a mystery drama. Her last foray into something similar was in the short-lived Malibu. Despite its cancelation, the iconic Reba sitcom from the early 2000s is more than enough proof that she can excel in the format. For context, Happy’s Place will see Reba play Bobbie, who inherits her father’s restaurant. What she doesn’t know is that she’ll have to run it with her half-sister who she didn’t know existed.

Aside from Happy’s Place being a milestone in Reba’s comedy portfolio, the show’s ensemble is also quite exciting. For starters, it will mark the first time that she and Melissa Peterman will co-star in a show since Reba. Peterman portrayed Barbara Jean, Reba’s husband’s mistress in the Texas-set comedy. In Happy’s Place, Peterman plays the bartender at the restaurant. The NBC show will also feature Reba’s real-life partner, Rex Linn as the establishment’s chef. It’s worth noting that before the upcoming comedy, all three of them were supporting characters in CBS’ Young Sheldon.

Wrapping up the list is the theme for Happy’s Place. If her past TV show songs are any indication, expect that it will also be catchy. What sets the currently untitled song apart from its predecessors, however, is that Reba also wrote it. With the multi-cam show’s nearing premiere, expect that NBC will release it as part of their promotional activities for the show sooner rather than later.
