Warning: Spoilers for Blood Hunt #4 and Vengeance of the Moon Knight (2024)!Moon Knight is coming back from the dead in style, with an all-new disco look straight out of Saturday Night Fever. With Moon Knight resurrected and Khonshu released in Blood Hunt #4 by Jed Mackay and Pepe Larraz, a lot is going on with Marc Spector. Vengeance of the Moon Knight by writer Jed MacKay, artist Devmalya Pramanik, and color artist Rachelle Rosenberg is a harrowing tale of grief – but Marvel has something fun coming to readers this summer.

This August, get ready for glitter, jumpsuits, and disco balls because the Dazzler is back with her first solo run since 1981. Marvel is releasing 21 variant covers under its Disco Dazzler variant covers line to tie in with the four-part series from writer Jason Loo and artist Rafael Loureiro. While all of the covers are striking, it’s the inclusion of Mr. Knight on Giuseppe Camuncoli’s variant cover for Vengeance of the Moon Knight #8 that stands out.

Not only is the design genius, it celebrates the return of Marc Spector, and Mr. Knight by extension.

Moon Knight is a terrifying character who most other heroes steer clear of, with his latest weapon making its live-action debut in new cosplay images.

Mr. Knight’s Retro Redesign Is Iconic

Time Period Accurate, Mr. Knight’s New Suit Drips with Swagger

From the dagger collar to the tailored fit, Mr. Knight’s new look is ladened with 1970s glam. Calling upon disco suits of the time, the all-white look is fitting to the time period it is emulating, as well as the character of Mr. Knight. Moon Knight’s suave alter-ego is known for talking and not fighting. The idea of Mr. Knight sitting in a club facing down Khonshu while relaxing in a VIP booth is both iconic and realistic for Mr. Knight.

The costumes featured on the Dazzling Disco variant covers are unlikely to be featured in the comics they are representing. These fun explorations of characters and their aesthetics are here to market for Dazzler’s solo run and not representative of the comics themselves. However, Mr. Knight’s new look is so good that it could have a place in the comics as a unique artistic choice – if Mr. Knight returns as Marc Spector has. So far, Moon Knight has been seen, but nothing yet of his persona, Mr. Knight.

Mr. Knight’s Cover Appearance May Mean His Return

This Moon Knight Variant Cover Celebrates the Return of Marc Spector

Mr. Knight sits in a chair in the Moon Knight comics.

With Marc Spector resurrected by Khonshu, the Midnight Mission now has its leader back. Moon Knight disappeared from the comics after his death, but his recent return has stirred excitement. A celebration of Moon Knight’s return, the new variant cover paints a story in one image. Khonshu triple reflected in the mirrors of the VIP booth with Mr. Knight glaring at him and the reader leaves intrigued. Khonshu wants something from Moon Knight, and going by the glare on his face, Marc Spector isn’t happy about it.

Time will tell what this means for Marc Spector’s return. Interestingly, Marvel decided to use Mr. Knight instead of channeling Moon Knight himself. Mr. Knight is still a mysterious figure with a lot of questions attached to his character, many of which went unanswered before Moon Knight’s death. Perhaps more answers will be revealed about how deep Mr. Knight goes in Marc Spector’s mind, or it will be left as a mystery for fans to theorize over. Moon Knight‘s return is a triumphant event, and it’s great to have the Fist of Vengeance again protecting the travelers of the night.
