The long-awaited series Rick and Morty: The Anime has finally released an official trailer and release date. Originally announced in 2023, Rick and Morty: The Anime hyped fans up for an epic new setting for the hit Adult Swim comedy series. Now, after a series of delays that pushed it to 2024, the anime is finally set to release very soon, and its first trailer gives a glimpse at what’s in store for the titular multiverse-hopping duo.

Shared through Adult Swim’s YouTube, the first trailer for Rick and Morty: The Anime features the iconic characters dealing with a battle of chaotic proportions as the Smiths gear up for action in the anime universe of the main show’s greater multiverse. Rick, Morty, Summer, Beth, Space Beth and even Jerry are shown suiting up in fantastic battle-ready suits that only anime could provide, setting the stage for what could be the must-see action comedy series of the summer. While no hint of the show’s plot is seen in the trailer, it sets a perfect tone for what fans can expect when the series premieres.

Adult Swim has officially confirmed that the first episode of the English dub will premiere on August 15th, 2024 at Midnight Eastern Standard Time, with each episode arriving on Max the next day. The subtitled version of the episode will later premiere on the following Saturday.

Rick and Morty is an adventure/Sci-Fi animated series that follows the intergalactic, inter-dimensional adventures of super-genius Rick Sanchez and his less-than-average grandson Morty Smith. Rick’s daughter, Beth, his granddaughter, Summer, and his hated stepson, Jerry, also take center stage more often than not. Hailing from creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, the series blends comedy with science fiction as a way of exploring a wide variety of themes aimed at an adult audience.
