Warning: Spoilers for Miles Morales: Spider-Man #22

Miles Morales finally has the ideal partner for his Spider-Man run: Blade’s daughter Bloodline. Peter Parker has had countless team-ups in his heyday, with a number of heroes who can be named as his best partner. Human Torch, Wolverine, Iceman, and Daredevil are just some of this Spider-Man’s best comic relationships that can be considered his best. Now, Miles Morales finally has found his equivalent.

Miles Morales: Spider-Man #22 – written by Cody Ziglar, with art by Brent Peeples – continues to make the case that Marvel’s newest hero and Avenger, Bloodline, is the perfect compliment to Miles. In the issue, she arrives just in time to help Spider-Man and his speedster frenemy, Hightail.

In a relatively short amount of time since their first meeting, Spider-Man and Bloodline, the daughter of Marvel’s premiere vampire hunter, have managed to become a high-caliber duo, worthy of their own super-team, or team-up title.

Miles and Kamala hold hands. In the background, Gwen Stacy from Spider-Verse looks on sadly.

Marvel Has Finally Found Miles Morales’ Perfect Partner In BLOODLINE

Miles Morales: Spider-Man #22 – Written By Cody Ziglar; Art By Brent Peeples, Daniel Picciotto, Bryan Valenza, & VC’s Cory Petit

Brielle “Bri” Brooks first made her Marvel debut in Free Comic Book Day 2022: Avengers/X-Men #1 ahead of starring in the Bloodline: Daughter of Blade mini-series. Upon meeting her father for the first time, her superhero training began, and in time, she has her first superhero team-up. Alongside Blade, she met Miles Morales, helping him defeat an ancient vampire named R’m’y’r, who was unleashed upon New York. R’m’y’r has since returned, taking advantage of a possessed version of Blade, eclipsing the world in darkness, giving birth to a global threat of vampirism.

In Miles Morales: Spider-Man #22, the hero – who has become a vampire himself, bitten by Blade – struggles to combat this threat, even with the help of a speedster as fast as Hightail, but Bloodline’s arrival helps even the playing field. Ever since the duo reunited during this storyline, Marvel’s “Blood Hunt” event has showcased the strong chemistry between Miles and Blood, both on and off the battlefield. They clearly get along and are able to formulate an efficient game plan to take out multiple vampires at once in record time.

Bloodline & Miles Morales Could Be The Foundation Of A Future Marvel Superteam

Spider-Man And Bloodline Have Potential

Miles Morales Spider-Man Bloodline and Hightail high five

Given how strong their chemistry is and how frequently they’ve crossed paths already since meeting around Halloween, readers can likely expect much more from these two in the future. However, there’s also potential for these two to expand their ranks given how well they work with others, like Hightail in this issue. Plus, her uber-serious demeanor paired with Bloodline and Spider-Man’s cheerier personalities make for a fun dynamic. The same can be said for Dracula, who joins their side to help them combat Blade going into the Blood Hunt series’ conclusion.

One thing about the original Spider-Man is that joining and forming teams was just as vital to his growth (as a character and growing popularity) as forming close friendships with local Marvel heroes. Miles has been a part of several teams, most notably the Champions, but expanding on his close friendship with Bloodline to form an entirely new super-team could launch him to an entirely new level. It worked for Peter, so, surely, it could work for Miles Morales’ version of Spider-Man and even the rising Bloodline.

Spider-Man is the name given to several individuals who have employed a spider-moniker throughout Marvel Comics. Typically gaining their powers through a bite from a radioactive spider, the different Spider-Man heroes employ super-strength, agility, and intellect while utilizing webbing to swing and tangle up their foes. The most notable of these Spider-Men is Peter Parker, who remains one of the most popular superheroes throughout the world.
