The Irrational season 2 gets a premiere date at NBC. Based on the best-selling novel Predictably Irrational by Dan Ariely, and adapted for TV by showrunner Arika Lisanne Mittman, the NBC crime series debuted in September 2023. The story follows Alec Mercer (Law & Order alum Jesse L. Martin), a world-renowned professor of behavioral science, as he lends his unique expertise to an array of high-stakes cases. The Irrational‘s main cast also includes Maahra Hill, Travina Springer, Molly Kunz, and Arash DeMaxi.

NBC has revealed the details of its Fall TV schedule, with TVLine confirming that The Irrational season 2 will premiere on Tuesday, October 1 at 10 pm ET. This marks a change for the crime drama series, which previously aired on Monday nights. It will be airing on the same nights as Night Court season 3 and the new comedy St. Denis Medical, which will premiere in November.

The Irrational Season 2 Will Have To Answer A Big Mystery

Someone Close To Alec Is Abducted.

The Irrational season 1 was largely focused on revealing the person responsible for the 2002 bombing that impacted Alec for decades. However, there was also the secondary storyline of Phoebe announcing her plans to work for a professor who was less likely to put her in life-threatening situations. Though she is worried about having to tell Alec, he reassures her and even says that he recommended her for the new job. It’s since been confirmed by the showrunner that Pheobe (played by Molly Kunz) will remain a part of the series.

True crime has always been a popular genre for TV shows and movies, but what are the best true crime shows that dramatize the source stories?

The Irrational, which streams on Peacock, concludes its ongoing mystery by uncovering that the church bombing from two decades ago was due to a U.S. Senator who wanted to cover up the fact that an associate dumped a dead woman’s body there on his behalf. The politician believed that no one would have questioned that the woman died in a church bombing. He would have ultimately gotten away with the crime, which itself was meant to cover the fact that he’d been sleeping about.

Alec manages to trick Senator Sanford (James Tupper) into confessing and his admission is broadcast for everyone to hear. But in the cliffhanger that sets up The Irrational season 2, another crime unfolds; Rose (Karen David), Alec’s girlfriend, is abducted. That leaves plenty of new territory for the NBC series to pick up when it returns for a second installment on a new night.
