The release date for Found season 2 has been revealed, confirming a previous change. From creator Nkechi Okoro Carroll, the story follows Gabi Mosely (Shanola Hampton) and Sir (Mark-Paul Gosselaar). A former missing person herself, Mosely now leads a crisis management team that seeks out missing persons. The secret that the show quickly reveals is that Gabi has Sir in her basement, keeping her former abductor captive so that he can help with cases. With a cast that also includes Kelli Williams, Gabrielle Walsh, Arlen Escarpeta, Karan Oberoi, and Brett Dalton, Found season 2 was quickly renewed.

NBC has revealed the details of its Fall TV schedule, with TVLine confirming that Found season 2 will premiere on Thursday, October 3 at 10 PM EST. This confirms a previously announced change, meaning the missing persons drama will follow after Law & Order and Law & Order: SVU. The spot was previously occupied by Law & Order: Organized Crime, which has been renewed but will be moving to the NBCUniversal streaming service Peacock.

Sir Has Escaped

In the cliffhanger-filled ending of Found season 1, Sir causes chaos when he escapes Gabi’s captivity. This causes a threat to Gabi, given her secret, but also to Lacey, another one of Sir’s hostages from the early 2000s who escaped with Gabi. Sir’s able to flee partly because Gabi is focused on the important case of a missing 11-year-old girl that stretches back to the premiere episode. She instructs Dhan to pursue Sir as she is focused on the pivotal case.

Found, which is available to stream on Peacock, also spent the finale delving into the disturbing first interactions between Gabi and Sir. While relatively innocuous at the time, it’s shown that Sir took a liking to Gabi as he taught her English class and poisoned one of Gabi’s bullies just before he kidnapped her. Decades later, Sir is still pulling the same tricks. Even though he helps her with the case of the missing eleven-year-old girl, Sir’s goal is ultimately twisted as he finds a way to keep himself in Gabi’s life.

This is made clear in the closing moments of the season 1 finale, which arrives at its conclusion by revealing that Sir is hiding in Lacey’s basement. And just as he poisoned Gabi’s bully back in her school days, Sir has now poisoned Lacey’s dog. It sets up a potentially even more frantic Found season 2, as the crime drama welcomes Dream Girls actor Danielle Gipson, The O.C. alum Michael Cassidy, and Station 19‘s Danielle Savre in recurring roles.
