Bad Boys: Ride or Die has hit another domestic milestone at the box office, officially reaching the top 5 highest-grossing films of 2024 after almost a month in theaters. The fourth installment of the series follows Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) on the run after being framed for a crime they never committed. With positive reviews for its action and humor, Bad Boys: Ride or Die became a smash hit at the global box office thanks to the quality on display.

Now, Collider reports that Bad Boys: Ride or Die has reached a domestic milestone, becoming the fifth highest grossing movie domestically in 2024. This knocks former contender Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes off the list, putting the movie around $24 million short of Kung Fu Panda 4. As of writing, the buddy cop movie has made $336.5 million at the global box office against a $100 million budget.

Thanks to their natural ability to work in tandem with one another during action scenes and funny moments, the duo’s journey makes for a hilarious, and sometimes emotional, new mission.

It also helps that the movie isn’t afraid to embrace the style of the first two, delivering wild action sequences reminiscent of Michael Bay’s classic duology. This is thanks to directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, whose detailed action choreography offers plenty of exciting moments throughout the film.
