Warning! Contains spoilers for Batman / Superman: World’s Finest #28!

The Justice League has gone up against some of the greatest threats the DC Universe has to offer, but it seems that there’s one villain that even the most powerful version of the Justice League stands no chance against. Despite being the strongest Justice League ever formed, Doom-Mite easily defeated the Fifth Dimensional Justice League.

In Batman / Superman: World’s Finest #28 by Mark Waid and Dan Mora, the most powerful Justice League ever formed stands ready to fight Doom-Mite. This League is made up of imps from the Fifth Dimension. These imps have the power to warp reality and essentially do whatever they want, yet despite the true power of these Justice League-themed imps, Doom-Mite easily defeats all of them.

It’s not like the main League is helpful either, as the second they try to confront Doom-Mite, they’re instantly teleported elsewhere — or possibly even erased from existence. Doom-Mite is by far one of the most powerful villains the League has faced, and he has defeated two separate iterations of the classic team to prove it.

Fifth-dimensional imps are some of the most powerful — and silly — beings in the DC Universe, but Doom-Mite might change how they’re perceived.

The Fifth Dimensional Imp Justice League Is Easily and Quickly Defeated

By New Villain Doom-Mite

Comic book panels: Robin tells Batman that the Imp Justice League is losing, including imp versions of Flash, Metamorpho, and Wonder Woman.

Fifth-dimensional imps are beings from the Fifth Dimension, which is the dimension of imagination. Due to their origins, imps are typically able to do quite literally whatever they want, including warp reality with ease into either a hindrance or help to their friends (usually a hindrance). These powers typically mean that nothing could possibly pose a threat to even the most simple of imps, but Doom-Mite proved otherwise. Doom-Mite’s reality-warping powers seem to even trump those of regular imps, as Doom-Mite easily defeats this version of the League with no problems.

Another explanation for the Imp Justice League’s loss, while absurd, would also be perfectly in character for them. It doesn’t really make sense why the Imps are easily tossed aside by Doom-Mite, as they should have the exact same powers as each other. But the Justice League has famously been weak to reality-warpers in the past. When the Joker gained the power of a fifth-dimensional imp, the Justice League was instantly defeated. It’s possible that the Justice League imps, ever true fans of the Justice League, simply lost because it’s what their idols would’ve done when facing this kind of power.

The Real Justice League Doesn’t Stand a Chance

Doom-Mite Easily Defeats The Real Justice League

With both the Justice League and the Imp Justice League defeated, it seems like Doom-Mite is truly unstoppable. While the Justice League has always managed to come back from certain defeat before, it’s certainly hard to imagine how they’ll do it this time. With Batman turned into a puppet, it seems that it’ll be up to Jimmy Olsen and his new imp powers to try and take on the one threat that not even the most powerful form of the Justice League could beat.
