Doomsday is Getting Ready to Escape Hell

Doomsday in Hell Getting Stronger DC

During Lazarus Planet, Martian Manhunter made a psychic connection with Doomsday before his revived form was destroyed. The connection allowed Martian Manhunter to realize Doomsday was in Hell and he was becoming stronger. J’onn teamed up with Supergirl to investigate and discovered that Doomsday had come to be seen by the souls of the damned as their king. Doomsday grew so strong he nearly destroyed the gateway out of the underworld until Martian Manhunter inspired the souls to stop him. They formed an impenetrable wall fortified by their belief, leaving Doomsday stuck in Hell trying to punch his way out.

Doomsday was plenty strong the first time he ever fought Superman and he’s only grown stronger in the years since. Even though he was confined to Hell, it was noted that the rough environment was the perfect forge to make Doomsday more powerful than ever. The only reason that the damned souls were able to hold Doomsday back was because belief shapes reality in Hell. So no matter how much he pounded away, he could never leave. But the unstoppable force appears to be winning out over the immovable object and if Doomsday escapes, it could be hell for Superman.

Can Superman Survive the Strongest Version of Doomsday?

Superman Swearing to Beat Doomsday

Clark eventually came back after he was killed by Doomsday and he’s won numerous subsequent rematches. But Doomsday is on the precipice of escaping Hell which, by the dimension’s own laws, should be impossible. If Doomsday can break through the wall of damned souls, it’s not a stretch to think that he could easily kill the Man of Tomorrow once more. Worse, if Superman falls, there’s arguably no one else who can stop this upgraded version of Doomsday from taking his fury out on the rest of the DC Universe.
