My Hero Academia season 7, episode 9 checked in on numerous battlefields where the final war against the villains is being waged. The key battlefield in this episode, however, was the site where Endeavor and Hawks were battling it out with All for One. All for One, ever the master of manipulating his opponents, had some words for Endeavor, revealing that he was the one who “saved” Toya on that fateful night.

News of Shoto’s victory over Dabi invigorated the other heroes, leading to them taking down the Nomu that was accompanying Dabi and effectively ending the fighting at that particular location. Spinner, having overheard the heroes discussing Shoto’s win, reacted erratically, claiming it was impossible for someone as driven as Dabi to have lost. He began lashing out as he ordered the heteromorphs following him to get to the hospital and break out Kurogiri. The situation at the original battlefield was taking a turn for the worse, as the villain Kunieda seemed to have gained the upper hand against Fat Gum, Aoyama, and others. Here’s how to tune in for the next episode.

What Happened in My Hero Academia, Season 7, Episode #9?

All for One Proves He’s Still a Menace

Endeavor unloads the full force of his flame power on All for One.

Episode 9 of My Hero Academia season 7 focused on the battle between Endeavor and Hawks and All for One, later joined by Jiro and Tokoyami, with the latter hoping to reinforce his mentor. While their timely arrival proved crucial in giving Endeavor the time to recover, All for One didn’t take kindly to these “extras” interfering in his battle, and viciously attacked them, cutting off one of Jiro’s earlobe jacks. All for One’s plethora of Quirks makes him an incredibly difficult and unpredictable opponent, and it’s clear that even with a little help, Endeavor and Hawks really have their work cut out for them.

The episode also checked in on other battlefields, such as the hospital site where Kurogiri is being held, which is currently under attack by Spinner and his heteromorph army. Spinner was granted extra Quirks by All for One, making him a far greater threat than he was previously. The attack on Gigantomachia’s facility is going well for the heroes, who were able to get the drop on the villains by making them believe the site was all but abandoned. While things may be looking up for the heroes at the moment, it’s still far too early to celebrate, as the villains could turn the tables at any time.

My Hero Academia Season 7, Episode #10 is About a Wounded Hero

Endeavor Remembers Why He’s a Hero

a split screen with Hawks on the left and Jiro and Tokoyami on the right.

Episode 10 of My Hero Academia season 7 is entitled “Wounded Hero, Burning Bright and True!” and once again appears to be focused on Endeavor and Hawks’ battle with All for One. Despite his injuries, Endeavor battles on against All for One, ready to deliver his most powerful attacks to hopefully take down the villain for good. All for One still has some unpredictable tricks up his sleeve, however, so getting the better of the ultimate villain may be easier said than done. Of course, All for One is still likely to underestimate his enemies, particularly those students from UA who he deemed “extras.”

Depending on how much the next episode adapts, it could also return to the fight with Tomura Shigaraki at UA’s “Flying Coffin.” Shigaraki’s abilities are only continuing to grow, even in spite of his Quirks being canceled out by Monoma using Aizawa’s Quirk. Shigaraki’s main weapon remains his horrifying, cancer-like rapid growth, manifesting as giant masses of fingers that could easily crush an unwary hero. With Deku still traveling as fast as he can to reach Shigaraki, it’s up to the heroes on site, like Bakugo and Mirko, to hold back Shigaraki until Deku can arrive.

There remains a whole lot at stake in My Hero Academia‘s final battle, and while things are looking up for the heroes, all that could change at a moment’s notice.

In My Hero Academia, some humans have superpowers called quirks. Izuku Midoriya, nicknamed Deku, is not one of them. Deku has always idolized heroes like the number one hero, All Might, and since he was a child, he has always wanted to be a hero. However, his lack of a quirk has always held him back, but a chance encounter with All Might after discovering a classmate in danger sets Deku on the path to becoming a true hero. My Hero Academia centers around Deku and a class of heroes-in-training at UA. This school shapes young quirk users into future heroes through fake rescue missions, combat training, and other hero-tempering tasks. With young Deku inheriting the “One-For-All” quirk, he will learn what it means to be a true hero while facing off with dastardly supervillains.
