Kelsey Grammer teases an upcoming episode of the Frasier reboot season 2 as “super nostalgic.” After shying away from leaning into anything from the character’s past in the first 10 episodes of the Frasier reboot, Grammer and his team are seemingly changing course as the revival returns for its sophomore year with increased references and cameos. Work on the show has been quietly going on for a while now. Since Grammer is the Frasier reboot’s biggest creative force, it’s always exciting when he teases something about what to expect when the show returns for new episodes.

In a new interview with Movie Web, Grammer talks about a specific episode in the Frasier reboot season 2 that would evoke nostalgia for long-time fans of the character. He doesn’t reveal any spoiler details about the matter, but he reveals that it would involve familiar faces from Frasier’s past. Read his full quote below:

“It can be a little tricky. And there is a sense of, if the nostalgia is earned by having a contemporary value, then that’s okay.

We have a big show [in season 2] that’s going super nostalgic. And I’m not really able to talk too much about that until it comes out, but it’s a wonderful show. And you see some people who you used to know that you’re sort of like, ‘ Oh my God, there they are! ‘ And that happens in this one show, particularly. It’s quite lovely.”

What Frasier Reboot Season 2’s Nostalgic Episode May Be

A KACL Reunion Is Coming

As part of the original production start announcement, it was confirmed that Peri Gilpin would return as Roz Doyle in season 2 after her initial appearance in the Frasier reboot season 1 finale. Her comeback is a welcome development, considering her great chemistry with Frasier. Besides her, Dan Butler and Edward Hibbert are also reprising their roles as Bulldog Briscoe and Gil Chesterton. All three are expected to appear in a single Frasier reboot season 2 episode and is likely the one that Grammer is referring to. All three of them with Frasier would mean a mini-KACL reunion in Boston.

What brings Bulldog and Gil to Beantown is the biggest question coming into this upcoming Frasier reboot season 2 episode, however. No additional context has been revealed as to what sets up this get-together. It’s worth noting, however, based on what’s known about Martin Crane’s death. Bulldog has remained good friends with the Cranes for the past two decades. Assuming Gil continues to call Seattle his home, it’s also likely the case for him. Besides the trio, Harriet Sansom Harris will appear as Bebe Glazer as well — Frasier’s eclectic agent from his days as a radio personality.

I’m Sorry Sam & Diane, But The Frasier Reboot Season 2 Will Continue Its Cheers Ignorance

Based on how the Frasier reboot season 2 is shaping, Sam and Diane’s cameos will likely have to wait as it continues its Cheers disrespect.

The Frasier reboot season 2 is clearly leaning into the legacy of the original Seattle series with all these cameos. However, this would likely delay the proposed returns of Sam and Diane, despite Grammer saying that he already has a story for Ted Danson and Shelley Long’s long-awaited comeback. Hopefully, the Frasier reboot gets renewed for a third year, so the Cheers gang can also make an appearance.
