The long-awaited Community movie gets a clarifying update from Jim Rash, who plays Dean Pelton. After 6 popular seasons airing from 2009 to 2015, the hit sitcom created by Dan Harmon is now set to return for a feature-length film. The upcoming Community movie is expected to bring back most central cast members, including Joel McHale, Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, and Donald Glover, but has faced numerous delays following its announcement due to the dual Hollywood strikes last year and scheduling issues.

In a recent interview with Screen Rant to promote his upcoming film, Fly Me To The Moon, Rash shares an update on the Community movie’s status. Check out his comment below:

“Look, I wish I had the best news, the thing to run with, other than the fact that I feel pretty cautiously optimistic that next year is our time. It’s just a matter of [timing], with Donald and touring, and Mr. & Mrs. Smith I think has got a second season, and Joel’s on Animal Control.

“Thankfully all of them are so very busy. We’re looking for that, but I have faith it’ll come together.”

More to come…
