Bridgerton season 3 continues a series trend by landing itself on Netflix’s all time most viewed TV shows list, giving the period drama another performance accolade on the streaming platform. The series is one of the most popular shows on the streaming service, telling the love stories of the Bridgerton siblings, with each season focused on a new sibling finding the person they wish to marry. Bridgerton season 3’s story focused on Colin’s relationship with Penelope Featherington, a major storyline that had been set up since the start of season 1.

Now, Netflix reports that Bridgerton season 3 has joined the list of the streaming service’s most watched TV shows, coming in at Number 10 as of June 30, 2024. The newest batch of episodes joins seasons 1 and 2 as the most popular seasons of television watched on the platform. Not only does this prove how much it dominates the service, but also indicates a positive future for the series.

Bridgerton’s Netflix Success Is A Great Sign For Its Future

Now that every season of the historical fiction drama has graced Netflix’s Top 10 shows of all time list, it has proven itself a popular series with longevity that could see its success lasting for years to come. Bridgerton season 4 has already been confirmed, with season 3 setting the stage for any number of romances that could become the focus of another batch of episodes. In addition, the original book series by Julia Quinn has one entry for each sibling, meaning the show could theoretically go up to season 8 if it maintains popularity.

Bridgerton season 3 ended by teasing a major change to the show, with Penelope casting off her Lady Whistledown persona and instead writing more positive and helpful gossip under her own name. Doing so means the show will be heading in a very different direction moving forward, not only with her as a more central force but also in terms of how future relationships are portrayed. There are now many possibilities as to how rumor can be sparked, as well as how influential it will be to the stories of future siblings.

Since the show has already set the stage for either Benedict or Francesca as probable candidates for the next season, it seems the show will get another chance to upstage itself on Netflix’s Top 10 list. Given the show’s ability to stay popular long since it first premiered in December 2020, the show has a real chance of adapting all eight books onto the small screen. With plenty of drama and love left for the show to explore, its future success won’t be a surprise at all.
