Before he directed Deadpool & Wolverine, Shawn Levy was in talks to take on DC’s The Flash movie.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy revealed he came close to directing Ezra Miller’s The Flash for “a brief moment in time.” While the director did not say why him directing The Flash did not work out, Levy implied it was related to the film’s story based on his comments regarding IP-based movies. “I get offered some IP-based movie every week, and, as you’ve noticed from a lack of announcements, I pretty much always turn them down because I need to feel that I see a story worth telling.”
