Warning: Contains spoilers for Giant-Size Little Marvels #1!!

Iron Man and Hulk frequently butt heads, but the man behind the big green guy is a brilliant scientist and inventor. Now, Bruce Banner has created his own Iron Man armor to win a contest, and Tony Stark can’t help but be impressed. Banner offers a fresh set of eyes, new weaponry, and an overall stellar take on the suit, securing his place as one of Marvel’s top minds.

Giant-Size Little Marvels #1 is a cutesy, cartoonish take on everyone’s favorite Avengers. As little Captain America’s attempts to film his own origin story, Tony Stark decides to host a Project Runway-style contest to design a new Iron Man suit. He manages to corral several of his fellow heroes into participating, but only one can win.

Spider-Gwen and Captain America have lackluster performances and Thor barely cobbles together something in one piece, but it’s Bruce Banner’s moment to shine. He crafts a full armor set, secures the win, and reminds everyone that he’s more than just the green guy.

Tony Stark Admits Bruce Banner’s Iron Man Design Is Perfect

Bruce Banner unveils his

Although Bruce Banner’s design is unfortunately limited to the Little Marvels universe, it still boasts some impressive features. He doesn’t offer a full description of the armor, but the visual makes a few things obvious. Large blasters sit atop both shoulders and the helmet appears to have a double set of eyes, potentially offering a wider visual range. It also includes a tall red antenna, which looks quite similar to Yondu Udonta’s Yaka Arrow implant. Its exact purpose isn’t stated, but could easily be a transmitter or controller of some variety. Whatever the new features do, they get Tony’s approval.

Hulk

The Hulk, a Marvel Comics superhero created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, is physicist Bruce Banner transformed by gamma radiation. He morphs into a giant, green-skinned creature of immense strength and invulnerability when angered. Struggling with his transformations, Hulk allies with other heroes, battling villains while balancing his intellect with uncontrollable rage, making him a central figure in Marvel’s universe.

Unfortunately, Bruce Banner’s suit will never get a real test run. Not only is it not part of the main Marvel canon, but Hulk smashes it to pieces shortly after Banner is named the contest winner. Tony’s disappointment with the wrecked armor is understandable. After all, few people grasp raw power like the man behind the Hulk, and the design likely packed a punch. Even if it won’t see the light of day, it provided Bruce with a chance to flex his long-dormant inventor muscles again, too, which hopefully won’t be completely limited to Little Marvels.

Bruce Banner’s Genius-Level Intellect Should Be More Relevant To The Marvel Universe

Bruce’s Mind Over Hulk’s Might

Through the years, Bruce Banner has known moments of tentative peace, and seized those opportunities to study and invent. They’re infrequent at best, resulting in too many missed opportunities. With Stark Industries and Iron Man still recovering from Feilong’s shenanigans, it may be time for Tony to put in a call. Even if Bruce doesn’t try his hand at upgrading Tony’s armor in a major timeline, he’s still one of the Marvel Universe’s most brilliant minds, and should have more opportunities to flex that. With Hulk’s cooperation, Bruce Banner took Iron Man’s armor to heights Tony Stark wished he could reach.
