As has been the case with previous episodes, The Acolyte episode 6 will be released on Disney+ at 6:00 pm PT, 9:00 pm ET, and 2:00 am BST. For those wishing to watch the episode as soon as it drops, it will be opportunely primed for the evening on both the east and west coast of the United States. For those in the U.K. and similar time zones, loyal viewers of The Acolyte would need to be awake in the early hours of the morning to catch the episode as soon as possible.

The Acolyte episode 6 is following the release time precedent set by Ahsoka season 1. After the latter moved its release time from midnight PT to 6:00 pm, The Acolyte followed suit. It seems as though all upcoming Star Wars TV shows – that are live-action, at least – will continue to be released at this time. Concerning the currently airing show, The Acolyte episode 6 will be released at the aforementioned times on July 2.

What Happened In The Acolyte Episode 5?

The Acolyte Episode 5 Was Filled With Twists, Turns, And Explosive Lightsaber Action

The Acolyte episode 5 is a huge factor contributing to the excitement of The Acolyte episode 6. In The Acolyte episode 4’s ending, the mysterious Sith warrior confronted Osha, Mae, and the Jedi. This led many to eagerly anticipate the next entry in the show’s story, which built on the prior cliffhanger’s excitement with a thrilling episode.

The Jedi Confronted The Sith On Khofar

As The Acolyte episode 5 began, death and darkness quickly descended on the Jedi on Khofar. After being blasted back by the Sith, Osha awakened to find a dead Jedi next to her, as the Sith warrior engaged in a lightsaber fight with the remaining combatants. This fight was over as quickly as it started, with the Sith effectively cutting down those who opposed him with brutality and guile. After taking down the many unnamed Jedi characters of The Acolyte episode 5, the Sith – dubbed The Stranger – faced off against Jedi Master Sol and his Padawan, Jecki.

These lightsaber fights were some of the best in Star Wars‘ illustrious history, as Master and Padawan took on darkness together. Unfortunately, this did not last forever, with Qimir using a deceitful tactic to defeat Jecki, killing her. Despite the return of Yord Fandar to the fight, Qimir defeats him too, leaving only Sol, Osha, and Mae alive. However, more twists proved to lie in wait as The Acolyte episode 5 drew to a close.

The Twins Osha & Mae Have Changed Places

As Sol faced down The Stranger, Osha and Mae found themselves alone for the first time since The Acolyte episode 3’s origin story. The duo spoke about their differing ideologies and eventually came to blows. Mae knocked Osha out, stole her clothes, infiltrated Master Sol’s ship, and gained his trust. While it is not exactly clear what Mae’s motivations are, she is likely committed to killing Sol for whatever happened on Brendok. Although she previously stated her sister being alive changes things, The Acolyte episode 5 saw Mae and Osha disagree, likely giving the former renewed dedication to her revenge quest.

Conversely, Osha is now in the hands of Qimir. Interestingly, The Acolyte episode 5 ended with Qimir showing a certain amount of care for Osha, healing her wound and covering her from the cold. This could simply be more manipulation, but it will be intriguing to see how the two interact with one another going forward.

The Acolyte Episode 6 Will Surely Reveal More About What Happened On Brendok

The Mysterious Flashbacks From The Acolyte Episode 3 May Receive More Context

Since The Acolyte episode 3, the main questions about the show have surrounded what actually happened in Mae and Osha’s origin story. The episode only highlighted what happened from Osha’s point of view, yet lingering mysteries loomed. How the witches died, how Mae’s fire spread so quickly, and what role the Jedi played in proceedings were all left unclear, leaving audiences eagerly anticipating more answers about what happened on Brendok. In The Acolyte episode 4, Sol told Osha that he would explain everything he knows after the mission is over.

Given this and the various pointed references The Stranger made to Sol about that night in The Acolyte episode 5, The Acolyte episode 6 will likely reveal more about the fateful events on Brendok. Kogonada, the director of episode 3, is helming The Acolyte episode 7, meaning the latter will likely delve properly into Brendok’s events. Regardless, The Acolyte episode 6 could still provide more answers thanks to the promise Sol made Osha.

Sol could tell Mae, disguised as Osha, exactly what happened on Brendok in The Acolyte episode 6, potentially changing Mae’s view of events. On the flip side, Osha is now spending time with Qimir. A common theory about The Acolyte is that Qimir was on Brendok that night, which he could reveal to Osha in The Acolyte episode 6. This could see a mirror in motivations, with Mae beginning to understand the Jedi perspective and Osha that of the Sith. Nonetheless, The Acolyte episode 6’s story is anticipated for the answers it could provide as the show reaches its conclusion.
