As fun as it is watching Suits season 9’s best moments, it exposes the harsh truth about the legal drama. In the summer of 2023, Suits started its streaming domination. By then, it was already 4 years since it wrapped up its original run on USA Network, making its newfound success more intriguing. Much has been said about the factors that led to this resurgence, which includes the increased interest in Meghan Markle and how it’s perfect for a binge-watch. That said, it took Netflix a year before it was able to complete the series with Suits 9’s availability.

Suits season 9 had the least number of episodes. Compared it its predecessors that had outings ranging from 12 to 16, it only had 10. Series creator Aaron Korsh revealed that the shortened year was primarily because it was already enough time for the show’s send-off. Suits season 9’s primary villain is Faye Richardson, a special master from the bar installed at Pearson, Hardman to oversee their operations. Seeing Harvey Specter and his cohorts fight her at every turn is classic Suits storytelling, but the best moments from the show don’t come until episode 5, “If The Shoe Fits.”

Mike And Rachel Leave New York After Getting Married

After a whole season since Mike and Rachel left in Suits season 7, Harvey’s protégé returns to New York. At this point, Pearson, Hardman is in the fight of their lives, with Faye breathing down on everyone’s neck and even stripping Louis of name partnership. It would be an understatement to say that Suits season 9 up until this point is tense. That all changes when Mike and Harvey reunite. They immediately fall into their usual witty banter, highlighting the incredible chemistry between Gabriel Macht and Patrick J. Adams – something that the show has been sorely missing.

Harvey & Mike’s Relationship Is The Backbone Of Suits

While the subsequent events that follow put Mike and Harvey at odds, there’s no denying that it’s an absolute treat every time they’re on the screen. In any case, this isn’t the first time that they are at odds. Conflicts have always been a part of their dynamic, even when they were still working together. However, as fun as it is watching them fight, laugh, or have any kind of interaction is a reminder of the core appeal of the legal show, which is their relationship. Effectively, it emphasizes that Suits should have ended in season 7 when Mike left.

While there are some great moments past Mike’s departure, the reality is that Suits is just never the same after he’s gone. Every storyline pales in comparison to its earliest years when Mike and Harvey worked as a unit. Granted that Adams’ leaving was due to Markle’s real-life situation, but Suits could have recognized that continuing without the show’s co-lead would be a losing battle. Looking back, it could have gone away without any of the storylines in its final two seasons, except for finally committing to Harvey and Donna Paulsen’s romance, which it could have done earlier.
