Some of the most unique and distinctive aspects of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure are the strange humanoid abilities named Stands. This is how most of the series’ main characters represent their incredible abilities, in the form of a Stand. The creature oten appears somewhat humanoid, but possesses unbelievable talents and powers beyond what ordinary humans are capable of.

These Stands are also usually brightly colored and elaborately accessorized in ways that hint at whatever specific power the Stand possesses. Some examples include Bucciarati’s Sticky Fingers that is covered in zippers or Jolyne’s Stone Free that includes strings in its impressive design. The franchise boasts an extensive variety of different types of Stands that perfectly fit with their respective Stand users.

Star Platinum Is a True Powerhouse Who Also Learns To Stop Time

The Stand User Is Jotaro Kujo

The first Stand ever introduced certainly remains one of the series’ most memorable and distinctive too. The hulking purple Stand, Star Platinum, is well-known for its trademark catchphrase “Ora Ora Ora” and its astounding levels of physical strength. A punch from it is certain to knock anyone out.

First introduced in Part 3, the Stardust Crusaders Arc, Star Platinum was able to defeat even Dio Brando, one of JoJo’s toughest and most formidable villains ever. As well as being very mighty, the Stand later developed the ability to stop time. This is similar to the way The World, Dio’s Stand, stops time, but through Star Platinum, Jotaro was able to use Dio’s time stopping skill against him to sneakily ensure the villain lost the final battle.

The World is Stylishly Designed, Strong, and Can Freeze Time

The Stand User Is Dio Brando

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure’s most horrifying villain has an equally terrifying Stand to match his menacing aura. The World is golden with green accents, perfectly matching Dio’s stylish personal aesthetic. Apart from being strong and fast, the most remarkable part of The World’s powers is its ability to stop time at will. However, the catch is that it can only freeze time for a few seconds.

Even though mere seconds may not seem very long, Dio was able to wreak havoc and end many lives during these brief intervals in which the world around him stopped. If Jotaro had not discovered how to stop time too with Star Platinum, there is no telling how high-powered Dio might’ve grown thanks to the help of his Stand. The World is also one of the most iconic and recognizable Stands, easily earning its status as a fan-favorite for its intriguing skills and undoubtedly cool design.

Killer Queen Can Turn Anything Into an Exploding Bomb

The Stand User Is Yoshikage Kira

This stunning Stand actually derives its name from the popular rock band, Queen. Its wielder, Yoshikage Kira, is a demented serial killer who relentlessly murders innocent people in his otherwise calm town, Morioh. His calm, collected nature juxtaposes horrifically with his unspeakable actions, making him one of JoJo’s strangest and most dangerous villains.

Killer Queen’s most notable ability is that it is able to cause serious damage to its enemies using bombs. With the simple touch of its hand, it can turn anyone or anything into a rapidly detonating bomb. This has devastating effects, making Kira’s Stand a very hard one to defeat, especially when the being leveled up into its final and most powerful form, Killer Queen Bites the Dust, towards the end of the Diamond Is Unbreakable Arc.

7

King Crimson Can Erase Chunks of Time, Allowing Its User Complete Control

The Stand User Is Diavolo

Diavolo, the truly wicked villain of the Golden Wind Arc of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, had one of the coolest and scariest Stands ever created. Covered in a red and white pattern of interlacing lines, King Crimson boasts a very distinctive and colorful design. It constantly wears a fearsome expression of anger and rage, to match its user’s cruel, callous personality.

However, what really makes King Crimson stand out is its fascinating twist on the time stopping ability originally introduced in Part 3. Rather than simply freezing time like Star Platinum or The World, King Crimson can erase chunks of time of around 10 seconds, allowing Diavolo to freely change his behavior during these periods, since he is the only one able to move during the erased timeframe. Diavolo was unstoppable for a while, and his overpowered Stand is to thank for his success.

Golden Experience/Golden Experience Requiem Can Create New Life From Objects

The Stand User Is Giorno Giovanna

Both versions of Giorno Giovanna’s Part Five Stand are very impressive. Golden Experience has arguably one of the most imaginative talents of any Stand: the ability to create life from objects. One gruesome but effective use of the Stand was when Giorno transformed a banana into a gun in order to take down Passione Capo, Polpo.

With the help of a Stand Arrow, Golden Experience grew into Golden Experience Requiem. This advanced version of the Stand boasted a “Return To Zero” skill, allowing it to stop others’ actions from occurring, which sealed Diavolo’s fate as the loser of the final battle in the Golden Wind Arc. This Stand also proved Giorno is the strongest JoJo by offering Diavolo the cruelest fate of any JoJo’s villain: trapping him in an inescapable loop of death and rebirth.

Purple Haze’s Virus Power Is an Immediate Death Sentence

The Stand User Is Pannacotta Fugo

Purple Haze is an often underrated Stand that never seems to receive enough credit for how truly scary it is. This bright purple Stand possesses a furious and hotheaded personality, as well as a bone-chilling ability entitled Killer Virus Infection. Purple Haze strikes enemies with gas laced with the virus.

Killer Virus Infection is no ordinary virus though, and becoming infected by this particular strain is a death sentence. Very few can survive a Purple Haze attack. Most people become liquefied shortly after inhaling the Stand’s deadly gas, and this makes Purple Haze one of the most brutally dangerous characters in the entire series.

4

Sticky Fingers’ Zipper Ability is Incredibly Versatile and Useful

The Stand User Is Bruno Bucciarati

Fearless leader and Passione capo, Bruno Bucciarati, has one of the most interesting Stands in the series. His Stand, Sticky Fingers, can create zippers. Bucciarati utilizes these zippers to unzip holes in walls and floors, attach and reattach limbs, and travel between rooms effortlessly, among various other incredible uses that make for many exciting Stand Battles.

Aside from its fantastic use of zippers, it’s also a very strong Stand that is adept at close combat. He can cause harm to enemies with the zippers, but also heal himself and others. This incredibly versatile quality of Sticky Fingers makes it unbelievably useful against seemingly any enemy.

Stone Free’s Strings Are Flexible, Strong, and Capable of a Number of Cool Tasks

The Stand User Is Jolyne Cujoh

The first female Joestar, Jolyne Cujoh, is clever and mighty, with an amazing Stand to match. Stone Free fights using string, which may not seem very powerful but actually works well in battle. Jolyne can accomplish many different tasks with the string, including protection, slashing objects or people, and traveling from place to place easily.

Stone Free’s string is no ordinary string, it is very flexible, strong, and can unravel to great lengths. Watching Jolyne’s innovative use of the tool is truly intriguing. Combined with her intelligence, Stone Free is one of the series’ most powerful weapons.

Made in Heaven Improves on Past Time-Stopping Stands With a Universe Resetting Ability

The Stand User Is Enrico Pucci

Pucci’s Stand undergoes multiple transformations and rebirths throughout JoJo’s. Introduced in Part 6, the Stone Ocean Arc, it took quite a while for his Stand to reach peak levels of power, but once it did, Pucci was able to completely reset the world. Made in Heaven builds upon the work of previous time-control Stands like The World and Killer Crimson, improving what these prior Stands were capable of.

Made in Heaven can speed up time, but most notably, it can reset the universe. This is more than a simple attack skill, Made in Heaven’s greatest ability has wide-reaching and devastating consequences for everyone on earth. This is why Made in Heaven is perhaps the strongest and most unstoppable Stand a JoJo’s villain has ever wielded.

Weather Report Miraculously Harnesses the Power of Weather in Unique Ways

The Stand User Is Domenico Pucci/Weather Report

The Stand name Weather Report makes it abundantly clear what powers this magnificent Stand possesses. Weather Report can transform the weather. Some of its tricks are simple, like bending the air, oxygen, wind, and rain to the users’ will, but the Stand’s powers also manifest in more outlandish ways.

Weather Report boasts powerful skills, like his involuntary and uncontrollable “Heavy Weather,” which allowed him to unleash an interesting snail-transforming power. One of the most surprising usages of the Stand was when it produced rainbows that could turn other humans into a snail in the Stone Ocean Arc. This seemingly silly ability was actually very effective in fights, catching enemies off guard and weakening them suddenly.
