Fairy Tail cemented itself as one of the most popular shonen anime in the last couple of years by sticking to the theme that friendship can triumph over anything, which made it a heartwarming anime that fans could latch onto. It continues to regain popularity, with the 100 Years Quest arc scheduled for an anime release next month. Hiro Mashima, the mangaka of Fairy Tail, also created another series called Edens Zero that drew a lot of similarities from its predecessor.

The main protagonist of Edens Zero looks almost identical to Natsu, while other characters are nearly exact copies of their counterparts. Despite the uninspired designs, the narrative of Edens Zero is darker and more cynical. While it still keeps the theme of friendship, it does push how far that can go.

Fairy Tail gives a sense that everything will turn out positively with the power of friendship, while Edens Zero presents that there can’t always be a happy ending, but there is still room to move forward with loss. Natsu and Shiki have unique fighting styles, and it would be interesting to see them face off against each other.

Natsu and Shiki’s Abilities

A Look Into Their Abilities and Skills

Natsu uses fire-based magic called Dragon Slayer Magic, which grants him immense strength, speed, and durability in battles. Natsu has faced and defeated numerous powerful foes throughout his life and has become stronger after each fight. Additionally, Natsu has achieved various transformations, as he can use Lighting Flame Dragon Mode after absorbing Laxus’ Dragon Slayer Magic earlier in the series and his ability to use Fire Dragon King Mode. His extensive combat experience gives him the edge in directly comparing power levels against Shiki; however, power scaling in anime and manga can be subjective and influenced by various factors, including the narrative of the respective series.

Shiki uses Satan Gravity Ether Gear, which allows users to control their gravity. He can also use Overdrive, an advanced form of ether gear that enables the Ether Gearist to increase their power and perform beyond their standard capacities. When Shiki uses Overdrive, his strength increases immensely, and his gravity becomes so powerful that he can make black holes that pull everything in sight. He can manipulate gravity to make his physical attacks hit harder while also being able to make people and objects weightless to a certain extent.

What Would a Battle Between the Two Look Like?

With their powers and abilities in mind, who would win?

A battle between Natsu and Shiki would be very destructive, given what both characters can do with their powers. Natsu has a slight advantage over Shiki in terms of battle experience, since he has been through more difficult battles than Shiki thus far. Natsu has also faced gravity users in the past, such as when he fought against Blue Note and defeated him with use in their second meeting. Shiki’s gravity powers surpass Blue Note by a large margin, but since Natsu has fought against it before, there is a possibility that he will know ways to counter them.

Natsu possesses more incredible speed than Shiki, but Shiki’s feats and abilities are more substantial. The longer the battle goes on, the more of a chance that Shiki could defeat Natsu. With Gravity Drain, Shiki can absorb Natsu’s powers and beat him. Natsu’s speed would be the difference in the battle, since he could launch a potent attack that Shiki could not stop in time. Both characters are powerful, and it is hard to tell who will win an all-out battle.
