Emma Myers made a good impression as the optimistic werewolf Enid on Wednesday, yet her new television character is much more Wednesday-like than Enid-like. Though Myers first began acting in 2010, joining the cast of Wednesday as Enid served as her ultimate breakout role. Since the show’s premiere in 2022, Myers has accumulated a number of new and exciting parts, including this recent foray into the darker side of teenage girlhood. Playing a character that is the opposite of what audiences know her for, Myers has the chance to prove her acting range.

A major aspect of Enid’s character in Wednesday is to act as a foil. Where Wednesday is dark, brooding, and mysterious, Enid is cheerful, friendly, and honest. Enid highlights the ways in which Wednesday is strange and doesn’t fit in. However, Enid and Wednesday’s budding relationship is also proof of Wednesday’s ability to change. Although Wednesday lacks Enid’s pleasantness, the two balance each other out in different ways. Emma Myers nails the complexities of Enid’s happy character, which begs the question: can she play the dark side as well?

Wednesday Season 2: Cast, Plot & Everything We Know

Following the climactic season 1 finale of Tim Burton’s Wednesday, here’s everything we know about season 2 of Netflix’s Addams Family show.

A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder Puts Emma Myers In Wednesday Addams’ Role

Myers Is A Cunning Teenage Detective

In 2024, Emma Myers is playing Pip Fitz-Amobi in Netflix’s adaptation of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder. Though Myers has previously aced playing a high schooler on TV, this mystery series offers her a different kind of challenge. Pip is a character that is not happy-go-lucky like Enid, but is much more like Wednesday Addams. Both are young women who are curious, determined, and perhaps have a tendency toward the macabre. More importantly though, both Pip and Wednesday are determined to solve crimes that they believe have been mishandled by authorities.

Throughout Wednesday, Wednesday is on the hunt to discover who is harming students at Nevermore Academy. Although her peers tell her again and again that there’s nothing to worry about, she knows that something more sinister is lying under the surface. Ultimately, she is proven right via Marilyn Thornhill. The same scenario occurs in A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder. Pip becomes invested in the local murder of teenager Andie Bell by her boyfriend five years ago. Though her hunch is dangerous, Pip follows her instincts to find out the truth.

How The Good Girl’s Guide To Murder Compares To Netflix’s Wednesday

Wednesday Has Far More Magic

While Wednesday and A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder can be linked by their respective murder mysteries, there are a few key differences between them. Namely, Wednesday has a lot more freedom within her investigation. This is mostly because Wednesday has magic at her disposal. Her psychic visions, and the powers of others, help Wednesday solve the mystery. Pip, on the other hand, only has earthly evidence to help her out. Ultimately, this makes Pip’s investigation harder, but perhaps also more realistic.

In the end, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder will be an interesting follow-up to Wednesday. Not only does the series include a key player from Wednesday in Emma Myers, but it also has a murder mystery that will keep viewers invested. Plus, those who loved Wednesday will get to see if Emma Myers can play the mysterious Wednesday just as well as she can play Enid.
