The dinosaur version of the Justice League, the Jurassic League, has returned to DC, bringing new prehistoric adventures with them. Fans have already enjoyed the dino-themed redesigns of Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and other classic heroes. Now, a new dinosaur has joined the fray, reimagining a fan-favorite time-traveling hero.

Batman: The Brave and the Bold #14 returns with the second installment of Mark Russell, Jon Mikel, and Mike Spicer’s Time Jerks, a tale where Booster Gold and the Jurassic League collide.

In the previous installment, Time Jerks, Part One, fans witnessed Booster alter the course of history when his Time Sphere accidentally collided with the asteroid that was supposed to cause the mass extinction of dinosaurs. This set off a chain reaction, leading to the extinction of the human race and the prospering of anthropomorphic dinosaurs, including Booster Gold’s dinosaur counterpart, Boostersaurus.

Time Jerks, Part 2, follows Booster as he tries to correct the course of history by sneaking into the Hall of Justice to steal his Time Sphere. His plan is to go back in time and ensure the fated asteroid strikes Earth, wiping out the dinosaurs and saving the human race. This mission leads to encounters with various members of the Jurassic League, including Supersaur, Batsaur, and Wonderdon, as well as the new and hilariously rendered Boostersaurus. Boostersaurus has perhaps the most derpy design of all the dino-inclined League members.

Whether Boostersaurus’ derpiness is due to the type of dinosaur itself or the fact that it’s wearing Booster Gold’s garish costume is up to personal opinion. Boostersaurus appears to be a small, generic theropod, a subgroup of flesh-eating dinosaurs. More specifically, Boostersaur could be classified as an ornithomimosaur considering his body type. However, the head shape is a bit off for him to be considered a true ornithomimosaur. This discrepancy makes the time-traveling dinosaur all the more silly and delightful. Speaking of delightful, seeing a dinosaur donning a skintight suit, sporting a visor, and wearing a ‘hair mask’ is downright hilarious.

Just Like Booster Gold, Boostersaurus Is Responsible For the Extinction of His Kind

However, style isn’t the only similarity between Booster Gold and Boostersaurus. Besides both being a headache for their fellow league members, human and dinosaur Booster are also responsible for causing catastrophic events. As mentioned earlier, Booster accidentally altered the course of an asteroid with his Time Sphere, resulting in the extinction of the human race. Similarly, Boostersaurus inadvertently activates the Time Sphere while examining it, allowing Michael to steal it back and travel through time to ensure the asteroid’s path remains unchanged. Thus, Boostersaurus and Booster Gold both share the dubious honor of being responsible for the extinction of their kind.
