Warning: Contains spoilers for Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter #11.The most recent chapters of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex introduced a major twist by revealing that not only did Kurama revive after his previous sacrifice, but that he had taken refuge inside Himawari and made her a Jinchuriki. Kurama even said that Himawari had a greater affinity with him than with any previous Jinchuriki, so there was a lot of anticipation to see what she could do in a fight.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter #11 wasted no time putting Himawari in a fight with her new powers by having her hold off Jura while Shikadai and Chocho escaped with Inojin. Despite all the hype surrounding Himawari’s new powers, though, Himawari and Jura’s fight in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter #11 was completely one-sided in Jura’s favor, which was disappointing for anyone who expected something more from Himawari.

That being said, it would have been worse for the story if Himawari had put up a good fight, so overall, it makes sense for things to have gone in this direction.

Himawari Had To Lose To Jura For Boruto: Two Blue Vortex To Make Sense

While Possibly a Letdown for Fans After the Hype, the Result of the fight Was Realistic

As disappointing as it might be for Himawari’s first big fight to be so one-sided, it was the only way the fight could go. While Himawari became very powerful after Kurama revived and made Himawari his Jinchuriki, she’s only just started seriously training, so she should be too inexperienced to properly use his power. That was explicitly shown when Himawari expended too much chakra healing her injuries in the fight with Jura, with even Kurama saying she couldn’t rely solely on potential, and that’s the most logical way for things to go with Himawari at this point in the story.

The fact that Himawari was fighting the God Tree Jura is another reason why it makes sense for her to lose. Jura is the main antagonist of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex right now, so Himawari putting up a fight against Jura would have made her far too powerful a character for how little involvement she’s had in Boruto, and even if Jura still won, it wouldn’t have been satisfying in the slightest. Himawari’s fight doesn’t live up to the hype it was given, but its commitment to consistency makes it work far better than it would if it did.

Himawari’s Fight Can Help Further Her Character Arc in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex

Himawari’s Loss Can Help Her Story in Boruto Grow

Himawari says she wants to help Boruto aka Kawaki in an official manga panel from Two Blue Vortex.

Another part of why Himawari’s loss to Jura works so well is because of how it can further her character arc. Himawari’s arc in Two Blue Vortex revolves around her wanting to become strong enough to help Boruto, and as such, Himawari’s loss to Jura teaches her that she needs to train even harder, much more than if she had put up a fight against him. The positives of Himawari’s first big fight in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex far outweigh the negatives, and hopefully, they’ll build into a far better showing in her next fight.
