The Boys season 4 aired on Prime Video on June 13, 2024, and viewers think if Jared Padalecki signs on for The Boys season 5, showrunner Erik Kripke has to cast the last remaining Supernatural actor for a cameo. The Boys follows a team of rogue superheroes, The Seven, with celebrity status and the titular anti-hero team trying to end their corrupt ways. Season 3’s main villain was Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles), who has not yet returned in season 4, even though Kripke said the actor could return since his character did briefly appear in the spin-off Gen V.

Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki played Dean and Sam Winchester on Supernatural, and Jared Padalecki may cameo in season 5 of The Boys. However, there is still another actor from SPN who hasn’t yet been cast. Since Jared Padalecki’s show Walker was canceled after 4 seasons on The CW due to budget cuts, he has expressed interest in being on The Boys. He called the cancelation of Walker a “tough piece of news,” but seems eager to reunite with his SPN co-stars, although audiences are still waiting for the missing man of the SPN trio to make his cameo.

Jared Padalecki offers a very encouraging response to his chances of reuniting with Eric Kripke and appearing in a cameo in The Boys season 5.

The Boys Need To Cast Misha Collins If Jared Padalecki Joins The Team

Jared Padalecki may join The Boys, but currently, his character is unknown.

As the creator of both shows, Eric Kripke has made numerous cameos for his Supernatural actors on The Boys. He cast Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Joe Kessler in The Boys season 4, and Jim Beaver as Robert Singer. Both actors played important roles on SPN; Jeffrey Dean Morgan played the father of the Winchesters, John Winchester, and Jim Beaver played supernatural hunter and mentor Bobby Singer. With these other cameos, if Jared Padalecki joins The Boys, it only makes sense that fellow Supernatural star Misha Collins, who played Castiel, should be brought on as well.

Misha Collins played nine roles on Supernatural, and his character Castiel had a deep connection with both Winchester brothers, especially Dean. Castiel and Dean appeared in hundreds of episodes together and Castiel’s character arc kicks off with him bringing Dean back from Hell in season 4. Misha Collins has since moved on to other roles, but his portrayal of Castiel is iconic. Because he and Jensen Ackles acted together for so long, it’s only right that Eric Kripke brings him into The Boys to meet Soldier Boy.

The Actors Joining The Boys Would Perfectly Round Out Its Supernatural Cameos

Misha Collins and Jared Padalecki have yet to appear in The Boys.

Jared Padalecki seems on board to join The Boys and speaking to Deadline before Walker’s season finale, he said that he and Kripke had, “already talked about a role” for him in season 5. However, nothing has been said about Misha Collins joining the show. Casting Collins and Padalecki would bring the Supernatural cameos full circle and satisfy watchers of both SPN and The Boys. Casting begins long before filming, as Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s casting in season 4 was announced in 2022, so there is no reason why the writers can’t develop roles for both actors.

Because the season is now airing, what the cast has teased about The Boys season 4 doesn’t give viewers any ideas about who could cameo in season 5, just that there is a possibility of new cameos happening. Nevertheless, for now, Misha Collins and Jared Padalecki are free to join the cast since they aren’t attached to any other TV shows. The actors were both on shows that were canceled by The CW, with Misha Collins’ show, Gotham Knights, ending after 1 season last year for similar reasons to Jared Padalecki’s show Walker.

Casting Misha Collins In The Boys Would Make Up For His Shortlived Gotham Knights Role

Misha Collins played Harvey Dent until Gotham Knights was canceled in June 2023

Misha Collins as Harvey Dent in Gotham Knights finale

With Gotham Knights season 2 not happening, Misha Collins’s joining The Boys would make sense to make up for his brief role on the superhero legacy show. Collins played Harvey Dent, a friend of Bruce Wayne’s and the District Attorney of Gotham City. After the show was canceled, he said on Instagram that he was, “incredibly bummed and selfishly disappointed,” to be unable to continue Harvey Dent’s story, but now he voices Jeremy Bradshaw in the audio thriller Consumed, alongside Jared Padalecki’s wife, Genevieve Padalecki.

Writing cameos for Misha Collins and Jared Padalecki in season five of The Boys wouldn’t be difficult, as many characters from the comics can be adapted on-screen. Since Misha Collins recently worked on a superhero show, he could easily play one of the comic book characters, as could Jared Padalecki, given that he has experience in Supernatural and screen testing for a Superman movie. Nobody knows if Misha Collins and Jared Padalecki will join the cast of season 5, but having the Supernatural cast members reunite on The Boys would be an epic way to conclude the Prime Video series.
