Warning: This post contains spoilers for A Quiet Place: Day One

There may be a sequel on the way after A Quiet Place: Day One. Directed by Michael Sanoski and written by Sanoski and John Krasinski, Day One takes place long before the original Quiet Place movies and is set during the initial disaster that saw much of the world obliterated by alien invaders. The movie stars Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn and had a budget of $67 million. While Day One is already known for its bleak ending, there may be a more hopeful sequel on the horizon after some of the characters escaped to an island of survivors.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Sanoski spoke about how the ending sets up a sequel. Sanoski highlights the island’s appearance in A Quiet Place II as a potential linking element. While he does not describe any specific plans, and he does not believe that there are any, Sanoski believes that a sequel could happen sometime in the future. Check out his full quote below:

I mean, definitely a good portion of those people probably ended up on the island that we see in Part Two of A Quiet Place. I think there’s a good chance that they’re there, and definitely there’s a good chance we’re going to see them again. I just think they did an incredible job. And I think Paramount would be really happy to see where they ended up. I don’t think there are any super specific plans. But I would not be surprised if that happens. So that’s a very loose, unofficial sequel tease.
