Acclaimed actor Ryan Gosling has been imagined as a new live-action Ghost Rider in a striking new MCU concept poster. In recent years, Marvel Studios has introduced several supernatural, mystical, and monstrous heroes into the MCU, but there is still one missing. There has been speculation about Ghost Rider’s MCU debut for many years, but while Johnny Blaze embarked on adventures in two Columbia Pictures movies, and Robbie Reyes appeared in Marvel Television’s Agents of SHIELD, the flaming antihero hasn’t yet appeared in the MCU proper.

Marvel Studios hasn’t confirmed Ghost Rider’s MCU future, but several brilliant actors have expressed interest in portraying the powerful Spirit of Vengeance. Alongside Norman Reedus and Keanu Reeves, Ryan Gosling has thrown his hat in the ring, and the Barbie star has now been imagined as Ghost Rider in a stunning fan-made poster shared by Kode Abdo.

The poster copies the title font and color from Gosling’s 2011 action drama Drive, while proving how vibrant, colorful, and captivating Ryan Gosling’s Ghost Rider could be in the live-action MCU.

The MCU’s Ghost Rider Reboot Just Got Way More Likely

A new Marvel Studios reveal makes the path for Ghost Rider’s reboot in the Marvel Cinematic Universe way easier, and it fits recent MCU projects.

Why Ryan Gosling Would Make The Perfect Ghost Rider

As a highly-acclaimed A-lister in Hollywood, with three Academy Award nominations and a Golden Globe win for La La Land under his belt, Ryan Gosling would be a huge get for Marvel Studios. Gosling’s impressive career has showcased a range that puts other actors to shame, as Gosling has starred in major blockbusters, but has also taken on more intimate roles. With experience performing in dramas, comedies, thrillers, and science fiction epics, Gosling is uniquely qualified to play a superhero – which is something he is yet to accomplish.

Different versions of Ghost Rider were previously portrayed by Nicolas Cage and Gabriel Luna, and while both of these interpretations had their strong moments, neither managed to capture the full essence of the Marvel antihero. Gosling’s remarkable talents and balance of different genres would fit the flaming character perfectly. Ghost Rider is often a darkly funny, but deeply damaged hero, and Gosling has proven how capable he is at delivering comedy as well as more vulnerable and emotional moments.

Nic Cage Isn’t The Ghost Rider Secret Wars Needs In The MCU

It would be exciting to see Nicolas Cage reprise as Ghost Rider in Avengers: Secret Wars, but Gabriel Luna is actually the Ghost Rider the MCU needs.

Ryan Gosling’s roles in Drive, 2012’s The Place Beyond the Pines, and 2024’s The Fall Guy have proven exactly how effective he could be as Ghost Rider. Each of these movies saw him portray stunt performers, drivers, and motorcyclists, involving him in epic and extreme action sequences that could be translated perfectly into the MCU. Gosling has been vocal about his desire to play Ghost Rider, and Marvel boss Kevin Feige has even endorsed Ryan Gosling’s talent, so only time will tell what comes of this popular MCU fan-cast.
