The Big Door Prize season 3 has officially been scrapped by Apple TV+. Inspired by M.O. Walsh’s book, the sci-fi comedy first premiered in 2023 and follows a small town that has forever been changed by the appearance of a vague and cryptic Morpho machine. Big Door enjoyed rave reviews and seemed prime for a return after the season 2 cliffhanger ending, which featured Dusty (Chris O’Dowd) realizing that he has been trapped in a mysterious blue room. Season 3 was expected to continue that storyline.
Despite the cliffhanger, Big Door will not be returning to Apple TV+ for any potential future seasons. Deadline reports that Apple TV+ opted not to renew the hit show. Unless it is picked up by another network or streaming platform, Dusty’s cliffhanger ending will remain unresolved.
