To celebrate DC’s Gotham City Sirens reboot, new cover art illustrates Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy in high fashion looks fit for the runway, or the red carpet, as the power couple stun in style in W. Scott Forbes’ variant cover for summer 2024’s Gotham City Sirens #1. Though they’re in the background of the Gotham subway set cover, Harley and Ivy’s gorgeous Met Gala-ready looks are immediately eye-catching.

In a first-look shared by Polygon, DC released variant covers featuring the iconic trio, along with some of the series’ upcoming guest stars. Forbes’ fashion variants are a true standout, giving comic fans some of the best Harley and Ivy looks yet.

Harley and Ivy fiercely posing side by side in their fashion-forward looks prove that they’re DC’s “it” couple. In their classic color patterns, Harley’s glittery bodice and accouterment along with Ivy’s vine-like linework embody the characters but heighten their costumes to cutting-edge couture.

Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy have become a staple of DC’s LGBTQ+ community with plenty of amazing moments together, but what are their best moments?

Harley and Ivy Take the Crown for DC’s Best Dressed Couple

Gotham City Sirens #1 – Written By Leah Williams; Art By Mateo Lolli; Color By Tríona Farrell; Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou

To commemorate the return of Gotham City Sirens, DC is serving up some of the team’s best visual styles yet. Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy aren’t only one of DC’s best romances, they also happen to be the publisher’s best dressed duo. While the character hasn’t existed as long as her love interest, Harley may have the most extensive costume wardrone history. Since her 1992 debut in Batman: The Animated Series, she’s been rebooted and adapted into many different mediums; though the black-and-red jester costume is the classic, Harley’s had several redesigns that could be considered iconic.

Poison Ivy has had her fair share of new looks as well, either with new fashion choices or some kind of biological change with her plant-manipulation powers. W. Scott Forbes’ fashion variant cover incorporates key aspects of Harley and Ivy’s classic costumes for their high fashion outfits. Through all of Poison Ivy’s best costumes, what remains consistent is the leafy green exterior, and Forbes’ version of Ivy reflects that with a plant-skin like appearance to the lines. While they could switch up their style choices in countless ways, Harley and Ivy look best standing together, serving as Gotham City’s supreme power couple.

The Original Gotham City Sirens Return In Stunning Fashion

Bringing A Touch Of Class To DC’s Darkest Town

Gotham City Sirens western cover feature image featuring Catwoman Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn

First formed in 2009, the Gotham City Sirens were a team featuring three of Batman’s iconic villains: Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, and Catwoman. While the three mostly teeter on the side of good now, either acting as anti-heroes or full-fledged heroes, they haven’t properly reunited as Sirens since the original series created by Paul Dini and Guillem March ended. As Gotham City Sirens returns, it marks the first time seeing the team dynamic with Ivy and Harley as an official couple. With a Western focus, the team’s upcoming adventures should also allow for more exciting costume updates along the way.

Constantly updating their costumes throughout their DC history in comics and otherwise, Harley and Ivy have an iconic style that remains consistent in all of their best looks, as evidenced by the Forbes variant covers for Gotham City Sirens #1. As the love interests get back together to relaunch Gotham City Sirens, there will seemingly be an abundance of new fashions in the comic itself and more variants. Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy’s runway-ready redesigns solidify their status as the most fashionable power couple in DC Comics.

Inducted into Batman’s rogues gallery in the 1960s, Poison Ivy is a metahuman who terrorizes Gotham with her poisonous touch and control over plant life. A misanthropic eco-terrorist, Poison Ivy is also depicted as an anti-hero, using her powers in attempts to regrow the environment in the wake of pollution and deforestation. Together with her lover Harley Quinn, the two are always ready to wreak havoc in Gotham.
