America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders features a cast of veterans on the squad, including legacy Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Madeline Salter, who many are curious about after seeing her on the show. Madeline, like some of the other women on the squad, is a legacy member of DCC who had a parent on the squad or in the organization. While some may assume that the legacy candidates get special treatment in the audition process, it’s actually quite the opposite. Being a legacy DCC is a high-pressure situation, and having to prove yourself can be twice as difficult for those with connections.

Madeline, who was in her third year as a DCC during America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, was one of the few legacies on the squad that the docu-series focused on. Having been a part of the CMT series, Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making The Team in the past, Madeline has a long and complicated history with the organization. Her time spent in the world-renowned DCC uniform has been complicated throughout the years, but has clearly been something that has been impactful for Madeline as she’s moved through her time on the squad. What happened to Madeline after America’s Sweethearts stopped rolling?

During America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, it was revealed that Madeline’s family legacy with the Dallas Cowboys was somewhat difficult. Madeline’s mother was a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader in the 1980s, and though there’s no fraternizing between the cheerleaders and the Cowboys players, there’s no policy about other personnel. Madeline’s mother met her father, a cinematographer for the organization, during a USO trip she was on as a DCC, and the pair got together. Unfortunately, Madeline’s father passed away after a battle with his mental health after she began her run with DCC, making her time with the team more precious.
