WARNING: LIGHT SPOILERS FOR ONE PIECE EGGHEAD ISLAND ARC

Elbaf is the fabled land of One Piece‘s giants and one of the final islands Luffy’s crew will visit, which has been long teased, but the anime recently delivered the best look at the beautiful land yet. The Giants were introduced as larger-than-life warriors as early as the franchise’s Little Garden Arc when Luffy and the Straw Hats successfully befriended two named Dorry and Brogy. Since then, Elbaf has only been alluded to on rare occasions, until now.

Some of One Piece‘s final arcs will likely take place in Elbaf after the Straw Hats find a way to escape Eggheald Island. However, episode #1109 of the anime provided an extended look at Elbaf with its adaptation of the highly anticipated moment involving Shanks’ Crew against Eustass Kid’s.

Anime viewers were treated to beautifully detailed moving shots of cascading mountaintops covered in trees along glistening lakes that fill the long-fabled land of Elbaf. A shade of a colossal tree that extends far into the heavens was also briefly shown, but will likely be more prominently displayed in the future. The giants that first befriended Luffy and Usopp spoke at length about the paradise they grew up in more than 100 years ago. Any doubt about their description was quickly dashed in episode #1109.

During the Whole Cake Island arc, fans learned little about the land of the Giants and Big Mom’s time there as a child. However, the anime provided a stunning new look at the island when Shanks reunited with Dorry and Brogy before confronting the Kid Pirates.

Detailed shots of huge mountains being pleasantly assaulted by growing sunlight illustrated a land more akin to the promised lands of the Vikings in Vinland Saga than in One Piece. While the series has been no stranger to introducing its audiences to grandiose and unique destinations from the mind of author Eiichiro Oda, the Elbaf that viewers saw in One Piece episode #1109 stands out for its natural beauty, instead of the more fantasy-driven environments the story has featured more prominently. Thankfully, readers won’t be waiting too much longer to explore more of the anticipated One Piece island.

Luffy and Usopp Have Wanted To Visit Elbaf Since Episode #71

One Piece Anime Episode 1109 shows Elbaf along with the Giants Brogy and Dorry as they follow Shanks and his crew into battle.

It’s incredibly likely that Luffy and his crew will be finally traveling to Elbaf after the Egghead Island arc. Eiichiro Oda’s manga has yet to provide a detailed look at the island, with only a few scenes showing glimpses of the Giant’s homeland. The World Government and the Marines have avoided the feared strength of the Giants while Big Mom craved an alliance with them for years. Now, Luffy seems to be the one to have earned the powerful allies, who are friends he will need in One Piece‘s final battles that are approaching faster than fans may expect.
