The X-Men’s Age of Krakoa was a renaissance for Marvel’s Merry Band of Mutants, and after the climactic events seen in the recent finale of Fall of X, ended an epic multi-year arc that began in 2019. In honor of the conclusion of this chapter of X-Men stories, the cosplay community has come together to give this ambitious era a proper send-off with a new collection of cosplay photos bidding farewell to the X-Men’s Krakoan Age to mind-blowing results.

Kicking off with Jonathan Hickman’s dueling House of X/Powers of X series, the X-Men’s Krakoan Age had its ups and downs during its six-year run, and despite gripes about it being too stuffed and inconsequential around the edges, the core of what this era of X-Men comics accomplished is undeniable, especially with how it positioned the mutant race as a force to be reckoned with moving forward. Incorporating nearly every X-Man who’s ever graced a comic panel and then some, the fact that this era has officially ended is a sad one, something that isn’t lost on these cosplayers.
Amounting to dozens of photos spread across three separate posts, Pat and his crew of incredibly talented cosplayers make cases for what the MCU’s iteration of the X-Men should look like, as each one of these images shows off real-world designs that work. The Krakoan Age is over, but fans won’t have to wait long to jump back into the world of the X-Men, as the mutant heroes of the Marvel Universe will be getting another relaunch courtesy of a few new comic series featuring all-new character designs — like Cyclops’ fresh blue and yellow redesign — and all-different stories that will usher the X-Men into a new era. Luckily, this means that the cosplay community will have more than enough X-Men content to pull from for future projects, so here’s hoping Pat Loika (@patloikaphotoworks) and his fellow creators come up with something great soon!
