Will Smith shares a fan-made poster imagining a Reggie spinoff after the character’s big moment in Bad Boys: Ride or Die. Directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, the fourth installment in the hit action comedy franchise sees Smith and Martin Lawrence return as Mike and Marcus, respectively, this time to clear their late captain’s name. The Bad Boys: Ride or Die cast features a number of returning franchise actors, including Dennis McDonald as Reggie, Marcus’ Marine son-in-law. Reggie gets a major action hero sequence in the new movie as he defends his house from intruders.

Smith now takes to Instagram to share a poster from artist Mr. Design Junkie that imagines Reggie getting his very own Bad Boys spinoff movie. Check out the poster art below:

The poster imagines Reggie starring in “Reggie Wick,” a new take on the Keanu Reeves-starring John Wick. Mike and Marcus are also featured in the colorful poster. “Hahaha, let him cook (the chicken),” Smith writes in his caption.

Would A Reggie Bad Boys Spinoff Work?

Ride Or Die Saw Reggie Come Into His Own

After first being introduced in Bad Boys 2 back in 2003, Reggie has served as a minor character in the franchise, often as comic relief due to his interactions with Marcus. Reggie finally gets his time to shine in Bad Boys: Ride or Die, though, proving himself just as capable a fighter as his father-in-law and Mike. This action sequence is especially satisfying given how the character is portrayed in past installments, and it’s a high point mentioned in many Bad Boys: Ride or Die reviews.

Although Reggie’s action scene certainly seems to be a highlight of Bad Boys: Ride or Die for audiences, a Reggie spinoff could be a hard sell. Commercially, the movie might literally be a hard sell since McDonald isn’t a bankable action star. Smith and Lawrence, the former especially, are a big part of why the Bad Boys movies have been so enduringly popular. McDonald, however, hasn’t starred in a movie outside the hit franchise.

Every Returning Actor In Bad Boys: Ride Or Die

The latest installment in the Bad Boys franchise featured several familiar faces returning for significant roles and cameo appearances.

Reggie works well as one piece in a larger puzzle, and telling a story in which he’s the main focus could be a challenge. That being said, Reggie’s action scene in the latest film certainly suggests that McDonald should return and play a bigger role in the prospective Bad Boys 5 opposite Smith and Lawrence. While a Reggie spinoff after Bad Boys: Ride or Die seems unlikely, the character has certainly now cemented himself as a core part of the franchise.
