David Corenswet’s Man of Steel and Rachel Brosnahan’s Lois Lane get their first proper DC Universe on-screen meeting in new Superman set photos. One of the most highly anticipated superhero film for 2025 will be Gunn’s Superman movie, which marks the first cinematic outing for the upcoming DC Universe franchise. Principal photography on Superman has been taking place over the last couple of months, and production is set to wrap sometime in July.

With only a couple of weeks remaining on Superman, more glimpses of Gunn’s upcoming DC Universe release have been making their way online through various set photos and video clips. After having not been seen together through location shooting, Just Jared managed to get some of the first shots of Corenswet as Superman and Brosnahan as Lois together in what appears to be one of the massive action sequences that is currently being worked on. The images get a better look at Corenswet’s Superman costume and Brosnahan’s Lois, who is seen in her traditional purple color scheme.

What The Superman Set Photos Tease About The Upcoming DCU Movie

The Superman set photos are, so far, hiding what is causing this damage to Metropolis, but whatever is behind the destruction, it involves the military, as multiple soldiers are seen around Superman and Lois. With theories floating around that there is some alien invasion happening in the DC Universe reboot, it is possible that this is taking place during the final act of the story. Whether or not that is actually the case remains to be seen, but it wouldn’t be shocking if this is giving the audience a glimpse of the climax.

A popular theory that is also gaining more traction online is regarding the mysterious ship that Lois can be seen coming out of, as many have speculated it to be Mister Terrific’s T-Sphere ship. Given how Mister Terrific has also been a big focus in other Superman set photos from the same location, it wouldn’t come as a shock if several of the announced heroes for the film are crucial to these sequences. Depending on the size of the threat, given everything that the set photos are foreshadowing, it will likely bring Superman and various players together at this point in the film.

It’s possible that more clues will be revealed over the coming days, especially if the crew are still going to be filming in this particular location for Superman. That may also lead to other characters in Superman getting their first looks revealed, especially if the scene is indeed setting up for an epic battle with several characters. But based on these latest Superman photos alone, there will be a lot to look forward to in the 2025 summer adventure.
