Freaky Friday 2 now has an official synopsis, release plan, and seven more actors from the previous film returning. The long-awaited sequel to the 2003 comedy film will see Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan reprising their iconic roles as Tess and Anna Coleman.

According to Walt Disney Studios, the sequel will be released in theaters nationwide in 2025. In addition to Curtis and Lohan, Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Rosalind Chao are also returning. Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, Manny Jacinto, and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan are being added to the cast as well. Read the official synopsis below:

A sequel to the beloved 2003 film with a multigenerational twist, the film picks up years after Tess (Curtis) and Anna (Lohan) endured an identity crisis. Anna now has a daughter of her own and a soon-to-be stepdaughter. As they navigate the myriad challenges that come when two families merge, Tess and Anna discover that lightning might indeed strike twice.
