Marvel has just confirmed that if Daredevil ever encounters Dracula in the MCU, the hero will be quickly defeated. Blood Hunt, which has seen an uprising by Earth’s vampires, is keeping heroes like Daredevil on their toes. In Dracula: Blood Hunt #1, the titular vampire, while searching for Bloodline, encounters Daredevil and gives the hero a beat down he is not likely to forget anytime soon.

Dracula: Blood Hunt #1 is written by Danny Lore and drawn by Vincenzo Carratu. Bloodline, Blade’s daughter, holds the key to stopping her father, who has seemingly turned evil. She is beset upon by vampires, drawing Daredevil, who is unaware of her identity, into the fray. After a heart-to-heart talk, Dracula arrives, telling Bloodline to come with him. Daredevil does not know Dracula is helping Bloodline, and attacks him. The fight does not go well for Daredevil, as he only lands two hits on the vampire.

Otherwise, Dracula is able to counter any attack Daredevil throws at him.

Dracula has been a part of the Marvel Universe since the early 1970s. One of Marvel’s most evil villains, Dracula has made bold moves in recent years, establishing the Vampire Nation in Russia. The Vampire Nation achieved recognition from the United Nations, giving it an aura of respectability. All of Dracula’s work is about to be undone by Blade. The former vampire hunter has seemingly aligned himself with them, leading the invasion that is at the heart of Blood Hunt. Dracula knows that only Bloodline, Blade’s daughter, can stop him, and has appointed himself her temporary guardian.

When Dracula first appeared in Marvel Comics, the intention was to keep him separate from the rest of their universe, but he proved too good a villain not to use, and by Tomb of Dracula’s second year, he was rubbing shoulders with the likes of Doctor Strange. Later, after Tomb of Dracula’s conclusion, the Lord of the Vampires will fight the X-Men and Thor as well. In each encounter, Dracula nearly defeats the heroes, showing his awesome power. Dracula is a serious Marvel villain, and has the track record to prove it.

Despite being a part of the Marvel Universe for over 50 years, Dracula has never fought Daredevil–until now. Daredevil’s radar-like powers proved utterly useless against Dracula. Daredevil only connected a few times, with Dracula clearly having the upper hand in the fight. Daredevil is known as one of Marvel’s greatest fighters, and Bloodline even says as such, but Dracula proved too much for him. The Lord of Vampires let Daredevil live this one time. Any rematch between the two, be it in the comics or the MCU, will not go well for Daredevil at all.
