In the many years that Hunter X Hunter has been on hiatus, the creator Yoshihiro Togashi has never been more active than he currently is. Fans who have endured for so long are finally hopeful that the series will be returning soon, and given the updates Togashi has been giving, new chapters don’t seem far off.

At the beginning of May, Togashi surprisingly returned to Twitter/X after a few months of inactivity, alerting fans that he was working on the series again. This time was different, however, as he not only implied that his health had improved but also posted daily since then, sometimes multiple times a day.

The last time Hunter X Hunter chapters were released was from October 23, 2022, to December 25, 2022, with ten chapters being released weekly in that period. According to Togashi, he has finished the inking for chapters #401-410 and has started to work on more.

Written and Illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi

Togashi started working on the 2022 batch of chapters in May, and they were released in October. He is currently working much faster, completing most of the process for ten chapters, and is now working on the dialogue, inking process, and, working with his assistants to finish up the chapters. Although there’s no exact release date for Hunter X Hunter‘s next chapters, it might as well be coming very soon given the speed Togashi is working at.

His health isn’t the only thing that’s become better. Togashi’s mood and spirits seem to be up as well, as he is sharing more personal info, cracking jokes, and recounting work he used to do. Chapter #401 will be a continuation of the Succession Contest arc, and will see the Phantom Troupe searching for the transmitter, Melody working through her guilt, Tyson’s cult, and many other exciting developments in the arc.
