Out of all the major team-ups in Power Rangers history, the comics have delivered the best one yet – as Boom! Studios long-running Power Rangers comic book hurtles toward its climactic conclusion. As part of its spectacular grand finale, the series’ creators have assembled a mind-blowing mega-team-up from across the franchise’s many different iterations.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #118 – written by Melissa Flores, with art by Simona Di Gianfelice – delivers what truly could be the ultimate franchise team-up. This new Rangers army combines the most memorable faces – including some villains – from just about every season of Power Rangers joining forces for one final assault on Dark Specter.

With the end of the series imminent, and Boom! Studios looks to provide an incredible ending to the story, the ultimate mega-team in Rangers history continues to grow unlike any the franchise has seen before.

It truly is the “Darkest Hour” for the Power Rangers as Dark Specter has diminished their numbers significantly by turning Rangers of all timelines and eras, past and future alike, into mindless minions for his Dark Army. The remaining Rangers not infected by Dark Specter include original characters like the Drakkon Rangers and the Omega Rangers, alongside classic characters as well like the Ranger Slayer, Kimberly, Billy and Tommy from Mighty Morphin, the new Green Ranger in Matthew Cook, the Phantom Ranger, Taylor Earnhardt from Wild Force, and Kendall from Dino Charge.

On paper, this team is formidable enough, but then there is the added caveat that they are joined by their longtime rivals. The stakes that Dark Specter has presented has become so high that it’s forced Lord Zedd to join the Power Rangers, as well as his henchmen, Baboo, Squatt, and Goldar. In addition, as Rita Repulsa teases a Mystic Mother revamp, which has her seemingly on the path of redemption as she is slowly turning over a new leaf, as she is now on the side of the Rangers as well.

Power Rangers’ Biggest Team Is A Feat Only Possible In Comics

Using The Medium To Its Full Potential

As if the combined powers of the universe’s greatest Rangers wasn’t enough, this same team becomes even more formidable by using Tommy Oliver’s Power Coin as a source of power they can all share. It almost goes without saying that this team, overall, is unlike any one team-up seen in the history of the franchise. A team like this can only happen in the comics, and the Boom! Studios creative team are taking full advantage by using them to their utmost potential. A team like this celebrates the franchise’s most colorful characters in all Power Rangers glory.
