Poison Ivy & Harley Quinn Meet Steampunk Fashion

DC’s Villainous Fashion Icons Deliver Even More Incredible Styles

In this cosplay, Poison Ivy dons a top hat as her red hair flows down. She is wearing a green leaf-accented coat and bodice, along with a belt and stockings. Attached to her belt is a glowing green potion bottle, while in her hands, she wields a staff with a rose top and vine-wrapped handle. Harley is rocking a red bustle dress with a black under-layer showing off her classic color scheme. She has a black collared bodice, adorned with her signature red diamond pattern. Harley’s hair is in low pigtails, split with red/black coloration while a diamond is painted over her left eye.

This mash-up of steampunk and DC villainy is a perfect blend of Western punk fantasy and mayhem. Like Poison Ivy, Harley is also armed. She wields a small gun and a gear-style key blade, which has replaced her typical hammer. This blend creates an even deadlier duo, since usually only Harley is armed. Poison Ivy frequently relies on her powers and abilities alone, foregoing typical combat. However, her staff is a great physical reminder of what she is capable of and how efficient she is in a fight. This is a fun upgrade that stays true to the steampunk theme as well as the characters wielding them.

Steampunk is a Perfect Genre for Gotham Villains

Batman is no stranger to wild adventures. Gotham itself throws back to the 1920s with its Art Deco style architecture and further back with the gargoyles adorning its skyscrapers. In the Elseworlds story Gotham By Gaslight (1989), a Victorian Gotham is depicted, placing the Dark Knight in an alternate vintage setting. He has also had Wild West and Civil War-inspired looks and adventures. A steampunk adventure and fight with two members of his eccentric rogue gallery would be right up his alley. Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy may be villains or antiheroes in their time, but they’d be just as deadly in a steampunk setting.
