New Superman set photos give an even closer look at the next cinematic incarnation of the Daily Planet for James Gunn’s DC Universe. While the DCEU movie timeline faced its end in 2023, a new DC Universe is emerging, as multiple Chapter 1, “Gods and Monsters,” movies and TV shows are currently being developed at DC Studios. The first DC Universe film that will be arriving in the near future is Gunn’s Superman movie, with David Corenswet becoming the next actor to star as the Man of Steel.
As the DCU Superman movie is only a month away from finishing principal photography, more glimpses are coming out of the set through various videos and photos on social media. While a glimpse of the Daily Planet had previously been seen through set photos, a new round of images has now made its way online, giving a proper look at the actual building that will be used in the Superman movie, along with the logo. Even though none of the Superman cast members actors were spotted, it still gives a great idea of what the Daily Planet will look like in the DC Universe.

Superman’s DCU Casting Reveals Teases How Important The Daily Planet Is For The Movie
While Gunn hasn’t revealed any specific details yet, it appears that the Daily Planet culture may have a more significant role in Superman compared to past film iterations. Even though the Daily Planet has been featured in previous live-action Superman movies, the journalism aspect of the DC icon’s life has only factored into a certain degree. In fact, the Daily Planet element has been featured more through live-action Superman TV shows than the films.
For the first time in Superman’s entire cinematic history, Gunn’s new movie will feature almost every significant Daily Planet staff member. Even though Clark Kent, Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, Perry White, and Steve Lombard have been depicted on the big screen before, characters like Cat Grant and Ron Troupe are officially making their way into a cinematic universe. Despite them all playing supporting roles, the Daily Planet side of Superman’s life is set up to have a more prominent presence with this cast roster in mind, especially as Clark is starting out as a rookie journalist.
It will certainly be intriguing to see how some of these Daily Planet characters will factor into future Superman movies, as well as potentially in other DC Universe projects. Hopefully, it won’t be too long for the DC Universe audience to get its first Superman trailer once filming is completed.
