But the Flash Family is gathered for a final stand while still dealing with public unrest and Waller’s forces. Will it be enough to stop the Arc Angles’ will? Well, the Resident and Linda have come to an epiphany, and have to risk everything to get to Wally…

The solicitation for The Flash #12 mentions that Wally West’s wife Linda and the mysterious being known as the Resident have come to “a strange epiphany“. This issue also comes with a variant by Matt Taylor that shows Flash embracing the Resident in a romantic tableau.

The Flash’s Wife Shares Something with a Mysterious New Character

Wally in the Gallery of Moments with the Resident DC

A collision with an atomic mirror wound up giving Flash the ability to side-step to alternate layers of reality (a dimension known as the SpectraVerse). Wally wound up getting addicted to traveling to the serene layers of reality while he began to grow distant from his family. Linda, meanwhile, was suffering from what appeared to be intense post-partum depression. But her feelings were being manipulated by sonic vibrations played by Abra Kadabra as part of a scheme to break up Wally’s family. Wally wound up getting stuck in the SpectraVerse, where Flash met a ghostly being known as the Resident.

Little has been revealed about the Resident at this point, though she does seem knowledgeable about the Flash Family and has been quite empathetic to Linda’s plight. What’s interesting is that the Taylor variant shows Flash together with the Resident as they both look longingly into one another’s eyes. Wally’s incredibly devoted to Linda and wouldn’t even dream about cheating on Linda. That said, the solicitation emphasizes an epiphany shared by the Resident and Linda. Given how much the Resident knows about Wally and Linda, it’s possible she could be a fragment of the Flash’s wife given physical form.

Is Linda Going to Sacrifice a Piece of Herself for Flash?

Resident Pleading with Wally to Save Linda DC

Wally’s been running around the SpectraVerse and is desperate to come home. His ‘lightning rod’ has always been Linda and she would do anything for Wally and their family. The solicitation mentions Linda risking everything, so perhaps Linda, or rather the Resident, is going to sacrifice a part of herself to bring Wally home. Who knows how that could potentially affect her? But if it means bringing the Scarlet Speedster home, then Linda will do whatever it takes to make the Flash Family whole.

The Flash #12 is available from DC Comics on August 28th.
