JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure’s fifth part is a true fan-favorite, tugging at fan’s heartstrings with emotional moments and simultaneously thrilling them with jaw-dropping action scenes. This season contains everything one could desire in an action anime: powerful Stand battles with unique powers on display, heroic acts of bravery and sacrifice, and cruel villains who must be taken down. However, the best part of Golden Wind by far is the top-notch character development.

Giorno Giovanna, the main character of part five, is one of the most experienced and best members of the Joestar family, despite his fairly young age at the time. His determination and sense of justice are unmatched, as he is willing to take any risks necessary to defeat villains who pose a threat to the citizens of Italy.

His status as Dio’s son also adds an interesting twist to his character. Although his father was arguably the cruelest villain ever who thoughtlessly ended innocent lives, Giorno lives by a very different moral code, fighting for the good side and fostering peace instead.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventures’ Best JoJos, Ranked

Over the decades, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure has featured many unique heroes in both the anime and manga, but who are the fan favorites?

The Members of Passione Are JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure‘s Most Compelling Heroes

However, One of These Well-Written Personalities Certainly Stands Above the Rest

Giorno with the rest of the Passione crew in Golden Wind

The main members of the Passione gang are some of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure’s best characters, with sympathetic backstories and inspiring goals that led them to join the gang. They are all united by the common goal of protecting Italy’s citizens from the dangers of the rampant drug trade. Diavolo, the villain of Part Five, worsened the drug problem in Italy due to his own greed and hunger for power, making him an enemy of Giorno and the others. From the hilarious and spirited Narancia to the reserved and strong-willed Abbacchio, there are a host of characters to love in this main cast.

However, there is one character in Golden Wind who stands above the rest, with an inspiring resolve, the coolest Stand powers, and courage and resilience that know no bounds. This character is the fearless leader of the Passione gang, Bruno Bucciarati. Bucciarati’s character arc is one of the best, not only in Part Five, but in the entire JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure series. At only age 20, he had accomplished more than most do in their entire lives, successfully achieving the prestigious status of Passione capo. However, what sets Bucciarati apart from Diavolo is that he cares for more than just his own power.

Bucciarati’s Brave and Selfless Mission To Take Down His Own Gang is Inspiring

He Had Aspirations to Destroy the Drug Trade From the Inside, Selflessly Risking His Life For His Cause

Bruno, although he was a prominent member of Passione himself, had aspirations to take down the organization from the inside. This was a lofty goal that could get him in dangerous trouble, but his own sense of morality spurred him onward and kept him from ever giving up. Buccarati’s backstory is definitely heartbreaking, as his mother left when he was young and his father was killed by the gang, despite Bruno’s attempts to protect him. Bucciarati was already immersed deeply in the gang and had worked his way up the ranks by the time he discovered the group’s unjust nature.

Rather than step back from the gang, which could cost him his life, Bruno cleverly chose to play the long game and attempt to tear the gang apart from within. This remarkably ambitious goal proves the capo’s strong commitment to his morals, even if it could cost him everything. Few anime characters are as motivated as he is, making him one of the series’ most respectable heroes. Although he lost his father as a result of gang violence and disagreed with the group’s involvement in the drug trade, he displayed incredible patience and wisdom in waiting for the right moment to strike.

Bruno Isn’t Just An Incredibly Powerful Fighter, But Also A Caring, Thoughtful Leader

His Love For His Men and Eventual Selfless Sacrifice Make Him One of Anime’s Best Heroes

Giorno was very honorable and driven to fight against the drug trade too, but Bucciarati’s lifelong commitment and the backstory that led him to this goal are even more motivational. Bucciarati’s Stand is another very interesting aspect of his design. Sticky Fingers allow him to make zippers on objects and even people. This gives him the ability to take off and reattach limbs, create holes to walk through, and many other creative uses that give him the upper hand in Stand battles. This Stand is unique, and allows the hero to show off his intelligence and wisdom through imaginative schemes using his power.

Aside from his persistence, morals, and physical powers, Bucciarati is also caring and kind, which is a somewhat unexpected quality for a hardened mob boss to possess. He took in numerous individuals who needed a place to stay and gave them a new purpose in life, including Mista, Narancia, Fugo, and Abbacchio. After recruiting them to Passione, Bucciarati fearlessly protected these gang members with his life, helping them become better and stronger every day. He helped them not just because he wanted to make the organization strong enough to overthrow Diavolo, but because he genuinely cared for these individuals and considered them family.

Why Golden Wind Is So Important In Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure

With Viz Media publishing Golden Wind for the first time in English, now is the perfect time to explore its impact on Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure.

Bruno Was Courageous and Devoted Enough to Die for Others

In Order to Protect the Innocent, He Nobly Sacrificed His Own Life, Leading to Diavolo’s Defeat

Unfortunately, Bruno did eventually die in battle facing the mob boss Diavolo, but his sacrifice gave Giorno the opening he needed to level up his Stand and kill the criminal for good. Bucciarati’s final scenes showed the admirable hero ascending to Heaven, final proof of his good heart and worthy actions during his life. He was a man who truly lived by the words that he said and the beliefs he espoused, which can be quite difficult to find. Genuine to his core, many fans find that Bruno’s story made even more of an impact on them than Giorno’s did.

Bucciarati did not have an easy life, having to commit his first murder at age 12 to protect his father. He is the most loving, caring member of the group, which is a bit surprising considering his difficult past. Although he lost an unfathomable number of people, he never gave up and fought until his body could not continue. Passione boss Diavolo never would have been defeated had it not been for his death, which was the season’s most important sacrifice. It is undeniable that Bruno Bucciarati is one of the most important, virtuous characters in Part Five of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure.
