Wanda “Lady Deadpool” Wilson—Deadpool’s female counterpart from the alternate reality of Earth-3010—is one of Wade Wilson’s most underrated yet well-known variants. Recognized among fans as the co-leader of the Deadpool Corps and a member of X-Women, an all-female sub-group of the X-Men, Wanda notably met her demise in comics in 2013. However, the Lady Merc with a Mouth has officially made her comeback in cosplay.

Cosplayer SpiderMaiden made waves on Reddit by sharing her comic-accurate Lady Deadpool cosplay, debuted at Comicpalooza 2024, Texas’ self-proclaimed largest pop-culture festival. Joined by a Wolverine cosplayer and actor Randal Reeder, known for his role as Buck in the Deadpool and Deadpool 2 movies, SpiderMaiden’s portrayal was further elevated.

Notably, she captioned one of her posts with, “Chimichangas anyone?”—a direct nod to the character’s love for the deep-fried burrito cuisine. This cosplay’s significance lies in its revival of Lady Deadpool after her comic demise.

Lady Deadpool Returns in Picture-Perfect Cosplay After Dying in Deadpool Kills Deadpool

SpiderMaiden’s portrayal of Lady Deadpool is a dead-accurate recreation of the character, featuring the signature red and black mercenary suit and twin katanas. Additionally, she sports handguns strapped to her thighs and a plush unicorn clipped to her utility belt, paying tribute to the merc’s fan-loved obsession with unicorns. What makes this cosplay particularly recognizable is the long, blonde ponytail, a key identifier of Wanda Wilson’s. This is truly an exceptional cosplay that revives the 10+ years dead Lady Deadpool with remarkable authenticity and attention to detail.

Lady Deadpool stands out as one of Wade Wilson’s most underrated variants, given her significant and self-sacrificing role in Cullen Bunn and Salvador Espin’s Deadpool Kills Deadpool mini-series. Wanda Wilson met her end when she sacrificed herself while battling evil Deadpools in issue #3. To buy the resistance time and defeat Galactipool—a planet-eating being—she piloted the beloved Bea Arthur into the head of Galactipool, resulting in their simultaneous demise. Hence, it’s thrilling to see this badass character return in cosplay, especially amid rumors suggesting her appearance in the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine (2024).
