Discovery under the leadership of David Zaslav decided to shelve the film for tax purposes, something that has been frequently occurring under the company’s new leadership. This means that Coyote vs. Acme will most likely never be seen, unless another company buys the rights to release the film from Warner Bros. Discovery.

The biggest draw of the film is that it focuses on Daffy Duck and Porky Pig, which is a unique pairing for Looney Tunes movies. Previous films like Space Jam and Looney Tunes: Back in Action have mainly focused on Bugs Bunny, with Daffy acting as a secondary protagonist, meaning that the shift in focus for The Day the Earth Blew Up is a unique one.
