Mirzapur season 3 has set its release date on Prime Video. Originally created by Karan Anshuman and Puneet Krishna, Mirzapur unfurls a saga of power, revenge, and ambition, set in the badlands of northern India. In particular, the narrative begins with Akhandanand Tripathi, a millionaire carpet exporter and the mafia don of Mirzapur and what happens when he is forced to cross paths with an upstanding lawyer. By some estimates, Mirzapur season 2 garnered 32.5 million viewers, becoming one of the most-watched Indian original dramas on Prime Video.

On the heels of that success, Prime Video has dropped a teaser trailer, confirming that the ten-episode Mirzapur season 3 will debut on July 5th. Watch the trailer below:

Nikhil Madhok, the head of Hindi Originals at Prime Video, released a statement and praised the crime thriller’s authenticity and connection with audiences. Read the statement below (via Variety):

“With its authenticity, well-etched out characters, relentless pace and nuanced storyline, Mirzapur has truly captured the hearts of viewers worldwide, resonating deeply with fans who eagerly await its next season. The Mirzapur franchise has embraced fandom in its purest form where its characters have become a part of popular culture. At Prime Video, we are excited to treat the fans who have made this franchise so iconic and popular, with a fresh new season. In collaboration with our long-standing partners, Excel Entertainment, we are thrilled to bring a new chapter in the Mirzapur saga that promises immersive entertainment replete with shocking twists and turns.”

Mirzapur Season 3 Will Feature Even Bigger Stakes

There Will Be A Battle For Supremacy.

According to an official logline, the stakes are higher in the upcoming installment, and the story has grown even more expansive. However, even with those changes, the rules remain the same. All eyes remain on the sought-after crow in the fictional world of Mirzapur. As all this unfolds, there’s the important and so far unanswered question of whether Mirzapur’s throne will be earned or if it will be taken unexpectedly in a clash of powers that leaves no room for trust.

The cast of Mirzapur season 3 includes Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Shweta Tripathi Sharma, Rasika Dugal, Vijay Varma, Isha Talwar, Anjumm Shharma, Priyanshu Painyuli, Harshita Shekhar Gaur, Rajesh Tailang, Sheeba Chadha, Meghna Malik, and Manu Rishi Chadha. The ensemble features several returning actors, who have either recurred or been part of the main cast.
