The Ubisoft Forward 2024 event during this year’s Summer Game Fest has come to an end, with the publisher having showcased several of its upcoming games, as well as updates to key titles in its roster and news about some of popular franchises. The special presentation held by the publisher and developer highlighted a lot of its titles, including Star Wars Outlaws, Anno 117 Pax Romana, and the highly anticipated Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which had more of its dual-protagonist gameplay shown.

The annual presentation also brought forth a series of updates to games that have already been released by the company, such as Skull and Bones, XDefiant, and The Crew Motorfest. Ubisoft Forward 2024 was also the stage for the reveal of a new DLC for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, as well as a new release window for the remake of Prince of Persia: The Sand of Time, which had had its entire development process reset a few years ago following criticism.

New Star Wars Outlaws Gameplay & Overview Trailer

Outlaws Offered A Fresh Look At Gameplay

The game chosen to kick off the Ubisoft Forward 2024 presentation was Star Wars Outlaws. The title developed by Massive Entertainment got an extended gameplay trailer during the event, showcasing how players will be able to use Kay Vess and Nix to traverse several systems and search for riches as they increase their reputation across the galaxy. The trailer shows Kay trying to find an NPC who will then teach her how to be a better gunslinger – during the game, players will be able to track down several characters like this.

The video then proceeds to show Kay leaving her planetary exploration and controlling her spaceship, which shortly after engages in a dogfight. After the fight is concluded, Kay moves to Tatooine, where the city of Mos Eisley is presented. There, Kay searches for information regarding her mark. After getting the intel she needs, the protagonist of Star Wars Outlaws goes to find her target by riding her speeder bike across the Tatooine wilds. A mix of stealth and combat also occurred during Ubisoft Forward 2024, showing the many facets of the upcoming Star Wars game.

XDefiant Season 1

New Shooter Will Get New Weapons, Maps, A Game Mode, & More

The recently released XDefiant received its Season 1 trailer during Ubisoft Forward 2024, detailing a lot of the upcoming content. The FPS (first-person shooter) title will get a brand-new faction with the arrival of Season 1, as confirmed by the trailer. The faction is called GSK. Alongside it, the game will receive a plethora of new weapons to wield against opponents, three of which will be free for all players.

Additionally, players will get one new map every month. Clubhouse, Daytona, and Rockefeller are three of the new confirmed locations where agents will be able to engage in combat. Another noteworthy reveal is the new Capture the Flag mode, which is set to be added with XDefiant’s Season 1. The trailer also revealed a new ranked progression system and hinted at extra rewards for players. A few cosmetics for weapons and characters were also teased. Season 1 starts on July 2 across all platforms.

Skull & Bones Seasons: PvP Update & Trailer

Ubi’s Pirate Adventure Will Put Players Against New Sea Lords

In addition to the shooter, another game had its next season revealed during Ubisoft Forward 2024. Skull and Bones, released earlier this year, will get its second season, and parts of its upcoming content were featured in the trailer presented during the event. Season 2, which is already available, is called Chorus of Havoc and introduces new sea lords for players to face on the open seas. The new season will also offer players a new ship called The Brig, which is said to be fast and maneuverable, used for smuggling and battles alike.

Chorus of the Havoc also introduces the new sea monster called The Megalodon – Lestari. During the period, players will also have access to special events. Additional updates are also being implemented to the game with the arrival of Season 2, such as Fleet Management and new game modes for both PvE and PvP experiences. New ship updates are also inbound with Skull and Bones’ Season 2, as revealed by Ubisoft. A short teaser for Season 3, Into The Dragon’s Wake, was also showcased, hinting at fights against the Flying Dragon sea monster.

New Prince Of Persia Content & Sands Of Time Remake Teaser

The Sands Of Time Remake Just Got A New Release Window

In celebration of the franchise’s 35th anniversary, the Prince of Persia series occupied a large portion of the Ubisoft Forward 2024 presentation. The Divine Trials, a free expansion pack for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, was announced during the event. The challenge-focused content is now available. Additionally, the game will receive its first DLC, called The Mask of Shadow, in September. The recently released The Rogue Prince of Persia also had new content revealed during the event. The update known as Temple of Fire is also available now.

In addition to updates to the two new recent releases, Ubisoft also announced a new release window for the remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. The title was announced back in 2020, but was delayed and had its development process reset without new predictions on when it would arrive. Now, it has been revealed the Sands of Time remake will be released at some point in 2026. While a more precise window was not made available, the game now looks to be moving closer to its arrival.

Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora Got A Trailer For The Sky Breaker Story Pack

The Open-World Game Will Get A New Playable Content This Summer

While the Ubisoft Forward 2024 presentation started off celebrating the arrival of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, it later proceeded to show off a new DLC for the open-world game. Called The Sky Breaker, the new DLC will introduce a load of new playable content for players, having the Na’vi once again rise and reunite to fend off the dangers of the human colonizers. The Sky Breaker will introduce a new location to the game called The Heart of the Plains, as well as a new type of mech enemy.

The trailer also revealed that The Sky Breaker will be released this Summer, on July 16, across all platforms on which the game is currently available on. This will be the first of two DLCs that are currently planned for the game – the second one is called Secrets of the Spires and is expected to arrive later this year. Both DLCs are part of the Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora season pass and players who already have it will get immediate access to the content once it is released.

The Crew Motorfest’s Roadmap

A New Game Mode Is Arriving In November

The Crew Motorfest is nearly about to celebrate its first anniversary and, just before that happens, the Ubisoft Forward 2024 presentation served as a stage for the company to announce the racing game’s roadmap for the next few months. The first part is referent to Season 4, which is the final update in Year 1; the focus of Season 4 is car customization. While that is set to arrive in July 2024, Ubisoft detailed what will come after that, teasing a new mode with a trailer.

Year 2 will be composed of Seasons 5, 6, and 7, set to arrive in November 2024, March 2025, and July 2025, respectively. Season 5 will introduce the new island of Maui to the game as well as Made in Japan Volume 2. The new game mode, set to arrive in Year 2, is called The Chase Squad. This mode in The Crew Motorfest will put players in the role of police trying to capture street racers. According to the trailer shown during the presentation,

Anno 117: Pax Romana Announced

New Strategy Will Take Players To The Golden Years Of The Roman Empire

The new game in the Anno series, Anno 117: Pax Romana, was also announced during Ubisoft Forward 2024. The title was teased by a man in robes delivering a speech across a multitude of locations across the many locations that composed the Roman Empire. At the end of the short trailer, it was revealed that the new game, which is already available for wishlisting, will be released at some point in 2025, without a more specific release window for now. The game will be released on PC and console.

Anno 117: Pax Romana will take players to the year 117, the time of the Ancient Roman Empire, as indicated by the name. As presented by Ubisoft, this will be the first time a title in the Anno series will allow players to choose their starting province. The new game is expected to bring back the strategic background and narrative decision-making that the franchise is known for, now in the setting of one of the most popular eras in history. More details about the game will be revealed closer to launch.

New Assassin’s Creed Shadows Gameplay Video

Event Showcased Yasuke & Naoe’s Unique Styles Of Gameplay

The highly anticipated Assassin’s Creed Shadows closed off the Ubisoft Forward 2024 presentation, showing more details about the game’s reconstruction of Feudal Japan, as well as how the game’s full-year cycle will influence gameplay. Of course, the unique gameplay styles of the dual protagonists, Yasuke and Naoe, were the highlight of the showcase. Yasuke’s samurai-based gameplay, has the legendary historical figure fighting opponents with the will, strength, and disposition of an anointed samurai warrior. He uses his kanabo war club to smash opponents and deflect blows.

Naoe, on the other hand, is a well-trained shinobi, who specializes in stealth and subterfuge. As seen in the trailer, players will be able to choose who they play with at certain points of the story. For an infiltration mission, Naoe was chosen, showing how she can quietly move around, quickly execute her target, and exfil successfully. The release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows is set for November 15.
