Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe winner Paul Giamatti has joined the cast of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy in a recurring villain role. Giamatti joins Academy Award winner Holly Hunter, who leads the cast of Starfleet Academy as a Captain and the Chancellor of the Academy. Star Trek: Starfleet Academy is the next Star Trek series on Paramount+. Executive produced by Noga Landau and Alex Kurtzman, who is also directing the series premiere, Star Trek: Starfleet Academy will begin production in fall 2024 in Toronto.
Star Trek on Paramount+’s X account announced Paul Giamatti’s casting in Star Trek: Starfleet Academy. Although his character’s name is currently under wraps, Giamatti’s villain is described as a man with an ominous past who has a connection to one of Starfleet Academy’s cadets.
