Gladiator 2 set photos have been released, revealing Paul Mescal’s Lucius after a bloody brawl. Serving as a sequel to his 2000 epic starring Russell Crowe, Ridley Scott’s upcoming Gladiator 2 sees Mescal playing a grown up version of Lucius, who was played by Spencer Treat Clark in the original movie. The film, which also stars Denzel Washington and Pedro Pascal, is set to hit theaters later this year, but no trailer has so far been released.

Daily Mail has now shared new set images from the Gladiator 2 reshoots currently taking place in Sussex, England, revealing Mescal’s Lucius for the first time.

As seen in the batch of images, Mescal bears a striking resemblance to Crowe’s Maximus, and he sports some blood on his face, seemingly after a big battle. Other images also reveal extras in armor with shields, while others are on horseback.
