Ke Huy Quan has commented on his return to the MCU following his debut as Ouroboros in 2023’s Loki season 2. Hot on the heels of his Academy Award win for Everything Everywhere All at Once, Ke Huy Quan joined the cast of Loki for the popular series’ season 2. Joining Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson, and Sophia Di Martino, Quan’s Ouroboros debuted as a TVA agent who is the sole worker of the Time Variance Authority’s Repairs and Advancement Department. Ouroboros was a key character in Loki’s Phase 5 journey, but his future in the MCU timeline is still uncertain.

Loki season 2 wrapped up Tom Hiddleston’s storyline as the former God of Mischief perfectly, but teased a larger role for the TVA going forward in the MCU’s Multiverse Saga. This may have set up Ke Huy Quan’s return to the MCU as Ouroboros, and while his reprisal hasn’t yet been confirmed, the acclaimed actor recently spoke to Collider regarding Ouroboros’ future in the franchise. Quan neglected to reveal when he might return, but expressed his hopes that viewers would “get to see more of him in either an MCU movie or, hopefully, more in the TVA.”

I also wanna add, one of the themes, to me, for Loki, Season 2 is that, it’s incredible because this character is very lonely in the beginning, and he found love and friendship in the most unlikely places. To me, anybody and everybody is lovable. We all love Loki at the end, so that’s what I love about that character and also about the show. In terms of Ouroboros, man, fingers crossed that we get to see more of him in either an MCU movie or, hopefully, more in the TVA. It’s such a vast universe. We only get to see a little bit of the TVA, so hopefully we’ll get to see more of that. Also, Ouroboros has so much knowledge, so I would love to see more of him and more of his contributions to that universe.

Loki Season 2 Sets Up A Perfect Avengers 6 Villain In MCU Twist Theory

One MCU theory suggests that Loki season 2 may have already introduced the next big bad of the MCU – someone even stronger than Kang the Conqueror.

When Could Ke Huy Quan’s Ouroboros Return To The MCU?

In the Loki season 2 ending, Ouroboros returned to his position in the newly-reinvented Time Variance Authority, kitted out with a new guidebook compiling the knowledge of both Ouroboros himself and Kang the Conqueror variant Victor Timely. Under new leadership, and with a new mission, the TVA is on the hunt for Kang the Conqueror’s villainous variants, so Ouroboros could return in a potential project exploring the TVA’s new goal. No such project has yet been confirmed by Marvel Studios, but this could mark the return of not only Ouroboros, but also Mobius, Sylvie, and Hunter B-15.

In a recent report suggesting Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy may be in talks to direct Avengers 5, Deadline also hinted at more than 60 MCU characters returning for the next Avengers crossover movie. It’s very possible that Ke Huy Quan’s Ouroboros could be one member of this colossal cast. If Kang the Conqueror is still featured as an antagonist in Avengers 5, despite recent controversies and confusion, Ouroboros’ key role within the TVA would make him an excellent addition to Avengers 5’s huge cast.

During a recent interview with Backstage, Loki star Tom Hiddleston hinted at his own return to the MCU, noting that Loki is a “splendid torch” that he wants to make “burn as brightly as [he] can.” Given the immense success of Marvel Studios’ Loki series, it’s not inconceivable to imagine Marvel Television putting Loki season 3 into development, which would constitute a return from many workers at the TVA, including Ke Huy Quan’s Ouroboros. The Academy Award-winner is a huge asset to the MCU, so it would be fantastic to see Ouroboros return for more adventures in the future.
